Head out for an awesome fishing adventure around Sarasota, FL with Captain Darius! Though he loves running further from shore to bottom fish the reefs for grouper, snapper, and pelagic species, the weather conditions have to be pretty stellar to allow this kind of trip. Thus, aboard his 23' Parker, he spends a lot of time hammering the inshore with his clients, and there are no shortage of fish (and big ones at that!) to catch! Lush grass flats abound in this area. These shallow grass flats are full of crabs, shrimp, and baitfish which in turn attract the game fish. Snook, Speckled Trout, and Redfish are the most sought after species, but you can also expect to hook into Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Flounder, Bluefish, Ladyfish, and others! Fishing the shallow flats requires patience and attention to detail. Fish are spooky in water that is only a couple of feet deep. The beauty of Captain Darius' 23' Parker is that it has a shallow enough draft to get you good shots up on the flats and in the back bays and inlets, while also having enough room and stability to haul it further offshore on a nice day! All of Captain Darius' trips include ice, bottled water, tournament grade fishing gear, live bait, licenses, and fish cleaning at end of the trip. There is plenty of room in the cooler as well for your favorite snacks and drinks if you'd like to bring them along as well. Captain Darius' main pick-up location is on Siesta Key, but depending on where you are staying he can also meet up with you at Hart's Landing or Ken Thomspon Park Boat Ramp. Read More

Captain & 1st Mate will take care of all the set up for you here and will leave you to monitor the rod for bites. With a small twitch or a slight movement of the line, Captain will tell you to start reeling. There is no hook set involved but you can bet your bottom dollar, you'll know soon enough that the fight is on! Nothing makes Captain Brian more pleased than delivering on your goals for the day! Another prized species in St. Petersburg's offshore waters is the amberjack, known for its brute strength and aggressive feeding behavior. Amberjack are commonly found near wrecks, artificial reefs, and offshore structures, where they feed on baitfish and crustaceans. Anglers target amberjack using a variety of techniques, including vertical jigging, live bait fishing, and trolling. These powerful fish provide anglers with thrilling battles and memorable catches, making them a favorite among offshore anglers.

For anglers seeking pelagic species, mahi-mahi, also known as dolphin fish or dorado, offer exciting opportunities in the offshore waters of St. Petersburg. Mahi-mahi are typically found near floating debris, weed lines, and offshore structures, where they feed on baitfish and other prey. Anglers target mahi-mahi using trolling techniques with lures or rigged baits, as well as casting techniques when fish are spotted near the surface. With their vibrant colors and acrobatic leaps, mahi-mahi provide anglers with exhilarating battles and memorable catches in the beautiful coastal waters of the Gulf Coast.

A friend and I we went out with Cpt. Gage for some afternoon offshore fishing. As soon as my line was in the water I had a bite, then we caught fish after fish! We mush have caught about 50 fish between us. It was a great experience and is highly recommended. I’d never fished before in my life, but after being shown what to do it was easy to pick up.

Went as a family trip of 4 and had an amazing time! Dustin and Mike were very professional and attentive. We had 2 newer fishers on board and they made sure we were comfortable. We caught our limit of fish! We’ve taken multiple charters in the area and this has by far been the best one! Highly recommend and we definitely will be rebooking the next time we visit!

Darius was very informative and always helpful during out inshore fishing trip. He was always considering when it was best to move to a new location to provide the best fishing experience. He was also great to talk to and share thoughts about the area.

Fishing trip went very well, we knew from the start that Gage and Peyton we’re going to get us on the fish by the way we took off , very knowledgeable, very informational, and never did we feel our personal safety was being compromised! Peyton did a phenomenal job as A FIRST CLASS, FIRST MATE , had our catch cooked up for us at the Salty Cracker, and it topped off a GREAT DAY . We will definitely be going back , and using Gage and Peyton again !!
