Spend 4 hours exploring the productive inshore waters surrounding Manteo and the Outer Banks with Captain John!

These waters offer a constantly changing lineup of fish throughout the year, with opportunities to target Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Bluefish, Sheepshead, and other seasonal species. John will adjust the game plan based on the tides, weather, time of year, and what's biting that day.

Depending on the target, you could find yourself casting artificial lures, drifting live bait, working the bottom around structure, or fishing shallow grass flats and oyster bars. Light tackle keeps things sporty, and John is happy to provide as much hands-on instruction as your group needs.

This 4-hour option provides enough time to experience the local fishery while leaving plenty of your day open for everything else the Outer Banks has to offer. It's a great fit for families, beginners, and experienced anglers looking for a focused morning or afternoon on the water.

You'll fish aboard John's 23' center console powered by a 250HP Yamaha and equipped with GPS, a fishfinder, and a live bait well. The boat provides plenty of fishing room for a small group while giving John the versatility to explore different parts of the local fishery.

Rods, reels, tackle, lures, live bait, and fishing licenses are provided. Just bring food and drinks, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing and get ready to see what's biting around Manteo!

Captain John is a North Carolina native who developed his passion for fishing along the state's coastal waters at a young age. After years spent learning the local fishery, he now enjoys sharing his knowledge of Manteo and the Outer Banks with anglers of all experience levels.

John is equally comfortable helping a child reel in their first fish, teaching a beginner the basics of inshore fishing, or taking experienced anglers out for a longer day chasing seasonal opportunities. He prides himself on creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere while adjusting each trip around the conditions and goals of his guests.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
