About Your Trip

Give yourself more time to follow the bite with a 6- or 8-hour fishing adventure exploring the inshore and nearshore waters surrounding Manteo and the Outer Banks!

With the additional time, Captain John can cover more water and adjust throughout the day as tides and fishing conditions change. Depending on the season, your trip could take you from the protected waters and sounds around Manteo toward nearshore structure and the Outer Banks coast.

Redfish, Speckled
Trout, Bluefish, Sheepshead, Black Sea Bass, and other seasonal species can all come into play, with opportunities for larger seasonal targets like Cobia when conditions line up.

The variety of water means the techniques can change throughout the trip. You might cast artificial lures across shallow flats, drift live bait, work structure for bottom fish, or break out heavier tackle when larger fish are around. John will tailor the approach to what's producing while providing instruction for anglers who want to learn along the way.

Choose the 6-hour option for a substantial day of fishing with enough time to explore a mix of productive areas, or step up to the full 8 hours to maximize your range and flexibility. The full day is the best fit for anglers who want to dedicate their day to fishing and give John more freedom to follow seasonal opportunities.

You'll fish aboard a 23' center console powered by a 250HP Yamaha and equipped with GPS, a fishfinder, and a live bait well. Rods, reels, tackle, lures, live bait, and fishing licenses are included, so all you need to bring is food and drinks, sun protection, and clothing appropriate for the day's conditions.

From working the sounds for Redfish and Trout to pushing toward the coast in search of the day's best opportunity, this trip gives you the time and flexibility to experience more of the Outer Banks fishery.
