The wind is stIll howling. My crew from Chicago caught a bunch of speckled trout. Only got a couple keepers in the boat and lost a couple really nice ones. It looks like the Trout bite is coming in now. The water temp is up to 70 so the fish are getting more active.

Captain Mike: South Padre Fishing Report. The bay fishing is on right now and should only get better throughout the next month. The shrimp and baitfish are migrating into our bay system and the fish are actively hunting them. The speckled trout and redfish are on the move looking for easy meals. This is in my opinion one of the best times of the year to target speckled trout with artificial baits and live baits. This spring fishing has started off to a good start. Water temperatures range from the high 50s to the low 70s depending on the weather week to week. Once water temperatures stabilize the bite should be more consistent. Spanish mackerel have been found inshore and outside of the pass; easily targeted on a four hour trip trolling and using live bait, incoming tides seem to be producing greater numbers of Spanish mackerel.
