The bay fishing has been good throughout the past weeks. Catching speckled trout on both live and artificial baits. Especially in that Margarita Green Water they love so much. Redfish have been tougher lately but still hooking some solid reds when the wind kicks up. Snook are being caught on the south end of our bay system when the tides are active. It's a good time of the year to get the kids hooked up on some nice fish and create some lasting memories.

My redfish at the jetty are back. I caught 12 in less than an hour at the shell sport owners tournament looking for a couple trips this week.

The bay fishing around South Padre has been good if you like catching redfish. The spring winds have been howling and are leading anglers out onto the flats in pursuit of the redfish or red drum. This time of year we have an influx of bait that migrates into the Lower Laguna Madre Bay System and the gamefish like redfish and speckled trout follow the bait. Redfish has been great with the falling tides due and low water levels to the dry fronts we have been receiving. Also lots of tidal movement with this full moon. Black drum are on the flats and near points that have shell.

The CATCHING has been awesome for the last 10 days or so. The lower tides had made it so easy to catch a lot of reds and black drums. Now with the water coming back, I have had to be following the fish as they move into different areas as tides rise. These kinds of conditions will continue until we stop receiving fronts. April and May are great times in which. I have plenty of dates availableand I am sure we can get you worked in.

March has roared in like a lion with spring winds followed by a spectacular calm day or two for sight casting with a fly rod or spinning tackle. Windy days have been good on wind blown shorelines for Redfish on jigs and topwaters with the occasional trophy class Speckled Trout. The color change bite remains strong for school-sized Specks. Find the bait and you find the trout. The calm days have been spent on the skiff with shrimp pattern flies or fluke style baits presented for the taking. Redfish aplenty along with some tremendous trout showing us their back sides!...
