The fishing in Cape Cod Bay has been crazy good. We are finding stripe bass from 23 inches up to 41 inches. In Mass we have a slot rule so in order to take home a bass, it has to be between 28 inches and under 31 inches.

We have been jigging or as I like to say, Cape Cod Cardio, on the shoals. This has been producing the best results. The jigging can be challenging however when the line go tight, all is forgotten. Just last week we were able to knock off a bucket list request and he hit for his first stripe bass which was 33 inches. A nice photo shoot and back it went In to the water.
The bluefish have also just arrived and that is starting to pick up too.

Crabbing has been great lately! Bottom fishing for salmon is slowing down, but it's not too early to start booking for spring Chinook in Tillamook bay, starting in May!

The local inshore fishing has been excellent this last week with Halibut to 28 pounds. Lots of sharks (Leopards to 46 pounds) lots of guitar fish and Spotted Bay Bass and big Sand Bass. Off shore the Bluefin on overnight and especially 1.5 day trips has been good for 100 pound plus units. Lots of kelps holding 8-12 pound Yellowtail as well. Witchy Woman is our 40 knot vessel which can get to those big bluefin on 10-12 hr trips.

Since the Halibut is trending here, we went on an exploratory trip and it paid off! Congrats to my neighbor Clint, with his PB 36lb and long time friend and X co-worker Zack’s very first 14lb’r Haliz! We farmed a few and let them take our hardy baits. All fun first in the morning. One last good ‘ol friend Kai took home a bunch of reds, rockfish, sandbass, calico, and few others. One for the books for sure! Salt Life gear keep us warm and dry throughout the carnage. Another day, another fishing trip filled with epic catches and waterlogged memories. Miguel hooked a massive halibut that weighed in at a whopping 27 pounds, but unfortunately, it didn't break any records. It probably felt like the second-place finisher at the Olympics, basking in the glory of its silver medal but secretly wishing for gold.
But that's not even the best part! One of our crew members, Miguel again (he's on fire!), caught a Starry rockfish that was a contender for a record weight. It was so close, it could probably smell the record's breath. But alas, it fell short...

Ian here at KingTriton Sport Fishing!!! So we got in to the Bluefin this last week before the bite slowed down. Had a few hookups on the Nomad MadMacs 200g Silver Pink stripe. Had a double hook up on yellowtail trolling by a kelp patty that turned in to a pretty good drift for some yellows which was super fun. The weather came up a bit so we plan to get back in to it this following week.
