Captain Mike: South Padre Fishing Report. The bay fishing is on right now and should only get better throughout the next month. The shrimp and baitfish are migrating into our bay system and the fish are actively hunting them. The speckled trout and redfish are on the move looking for easy meals. Fishing Report: Captain Michael. 12/1/23. The bay fishing has been producing some nice solid fish. Redfish are moving out along grass flats and are hitting fresh cut bait and lures. If lure fishing throw lures that resemble the same colors that match the real bait. Match the hatch color schemes. Fish will start off in deeper water and move into shallower adjacent water as temperatures rise. Speckled trout are hanging along deeper water drop offs. Larger soft plastic in the winter are a good choice. Sheepshead fishing should turn on sometime soon. This is also a good time to try...
