January 2026- Lake Travis - fish are out deep on ledges and channel swings in 30 to 40 ft, fish very slowly with soft plastics like a drop shot or wacky worm, jigs with craw trailers also working well with a slow presentation, when the bass are feeding and a little bit more active we are catching them on umbrella rigs, small finesse swim baits, and crank baits with a very tight wobble like a rapala shad rap.

Inks Lake is currently at a normal level with stained water and about 3–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures have dropped into the low 50s, and bass are beginning to group up as winter conditions continue to settle in. Overall, cloudy days have been producing slightly better action than bright, sunny conditions.

The most consistent bite right now has come from crankbaits and jigs worked around rocky areas in 2–14 feet of water. Bass are often holding tightly in small areas, so while there may be slow stretches between bites, it’s common to catch multiple fish once an active group...

The most consistent bite right now has come from crankbaits and jigs worked around rocky areas in 2–14 feet of water. Bass are often holding tightly in small areas, so while there may be slow stretches between bites, it’s common to catch multiple fish once an active group
is located. With a strong cold front moving in, anglers can expect the lake to transition even more firmly into classic winter fishing patterns in the coming days.

Been getting into some good white bass along with quality amounts of largemouth. Especially on this cloudy windy days when the fronts are blowing through. Targeting long main lake points with brush on them fishing over the tops of the brush and on the edges. Also targeting main lake drains with a Texas rig and a dropshot.

Lake Bastrop-12/4- water temp 67, lots of bass shallow right now, can catch these fish with spinnerbaits and flukes, worms also working well on outside edge of the grass, you can rig these on a drop shot or neko rig to stay weedless

Kicking out big numbers of bass averaging 50-80 bass per trip. Finding big ones has been a little more difficult, but we are getting a ton of bites! We are focusing on deeper grass edges in 15-20 ft of water drop shotting Bass Pro Shops Tri-Color Worms and Texas rigging 5" stick worms.

Randy was great! The weather made for a tough day, but Randy managed to put us on some fish, so the weather didn't totally ruin the trip. We'll be scheduling another trip with Randy in the near future!

Great Capt. Tough conditions the day we went out but Aaron was great conversation and put us on some fish. When things were slow even invited my son to dive into the lake and cool off with him with a quick swim. All around great captain very knowledgeable friendly and skilled. Would definitely book Aaron again next time we’re in town.

Had an amazing trip with Ray! He taught me how to be a better caster and to refine my bad habits. Caught several fish and two quality large mouths. I would recommend him to anyone who enjoys a day on the water.

My cousin and I caught a ton of bass, learned new techniques, and had an absolute blast. If you’re looking for a guide in the Austin area, book with Aaron—you won’t regret it! We’ll definitely be fishing with him again.
