In New Smyrna Beach, Florida, anglers have the opportunity to target the hard-fighting and aggressive jack crevalle, a popular game fish known for its powerful runs and relentless fighting ability. Jack crevalle are commonly found in nearshore and offshore waters along the Atlantic coast, where they roam in schools in search of baitfish and other prey. These fish are often encountered near jetties, piers, bridges, and inlets, as well as in the surf zone, where they chase down baitfish with remarkable speed and agility.

Anglers targeting jack crevalle in New Smyrna Beach can use a variety of techniques to entice strikes from these formidable fish. One effective method is casting with artificial lures such as spoons, jigs, or topwater plugs, which mimic the movement of baitfish and trigger aggressive reactions from hungry jack crevalle. When hooked, jack crevalle put up a spirited fight, making them a favorite among anglers seeking adrenaline-pumping battles. These fish are known for their blistering runs and powerful surges, often taking anglers on thrilling rides as they attempt to shake free from the hook. Anglers must be prepared to handle the strength and stamina of jack crevalle, using heavy tackle and strong leaders to subdue these powerful fish. Five stars warranted. Skilled and personable captain with nice boat and gear, plus the requisite “local knowledge.” Did a half day with trip tailored by the captain to match our specific inshore interests and to maximize fishing time. Wow!! IF YOU WANT TO GO SEA FISHING YOU HAVE TO GO WITH CAPTAIN NICK!!! So we turned up to a pretty chilly and windy meeting spot, thinking why hasn’t this been postponed to another day, surely we can’t got out in this weather. How wrong we were. Captain Nick arrived early assured us we would be fine and we would be fishing the river and not going out to the ocean, but he was pretty sure we would still catch some fish. When we started fishing within the 1st half hour we had caught 2 huge fish , the rest of the afternoon was spent tracking fish and catching them. Captain Nick and his mate answered all questions that were asked of them, their knowledge of the area and their love of fishing was clearly evident. They made this fishing trip, one that a 12 year old kid from England will remember forever. Thankyou Captain Nick for the experience
