The marsh hen is a client favorite here on the historic coast. The clapper or king rail commonly refered to as a marsh hen is a seasonal target and is often paired with our flood tide seasonal fishing trips known as a “cast & blast combo”. On this trip you will troll the creek to a flooded grass flat where we can wade and flush up the marsh hens all while searching for a tailing redfish on the spartina flats, a true outdoorsman’s paradise! Get out on the water with Captain Jeremiah and explore the stunning Intracoastal and backcountry waterways that Amelia Island and the surrounding Low Country have to offer! On this trip, you'll dial in your casts while chasing a variety of exciting inshore species, especially Redfish, Spotted Trout, and even Tarpon! These fish are a blast to catch on fly tackle, and they'll whack a wide variety of fly patterns. Use streamers, shrimp patterns, mullet patterns, crab patterns and more to attract bites, then get ready for a big fight! Most fly trips are "CPR"—catch, picture, release—but if you want to keep you fish, Jeremiah will happily clean and package them for you. Every trip with Captain Jeremiah is customized for you. Depending on the season, time of day, tides, and more, Jeremiah will make sure you're set up with the perfect flies for targeting your preferred species. You'll be fishing from his 18' flats boat, which has a super-shallow draft to allow you to access the areas where fish like to hide out. Although there's no experience required to have a blast on this trip, it might be worth practicing your cast before stepping onto the boat so that you can spend more time fishing and less time learning the ropes. That said, Captain Jeremiah is an excellent teacher and will get movie fishermen up to speed in no time! Read More

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

Wow!! IF YOU WANT TO GO SEA FISHING YOU HAVE TO GO WITH CAPTAIN NICK!!! So we turned up to a pretty chilly and windy meeting spot, thinking why hasn’t this been postponed to another day, surely we can’t got out in this weather. How wrong we were. Captain Nick arrived early assured us we would be fine and we would be fishing the river and not going out to the ocean, but he was pretty sure we would still catch some fish. When we started fishing within the 1st half hour we had caught 2 huge fish , the rest of the afternoon was spent tracking fish and catching them. Captain Nick and his mate answered all questions that were asked of them, their knowledge of the area and their love of fishing was clearly evident. They made this fishing trip, one that a 12 year old kid from England will remember forever. Thankyou Captain Nick for the experience

Outstanding fishing trip and adventure with Captain Bill. Celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary, I decided to book a deep-sea fishing trip while visiting our daughter in Jacksonville Florida. Captain Bill's sense of humor, people skills, combined with his professional knowledge and experience as a Captain and fishing guide made this trip/experience a great success and one we will always cherish. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a down-to-earth Captain that is fun an a expert in his craft.
