Redfish Fishing Charters Near Indian River Lagoon

The tarpon, Atlantic tarpon or also called the silver king are one of the number one targeted sport fish on the earth. These fish are some of the best fighting fish anglers have come across with using light tackle. Central Florida offers a wide selection of two different tarpon fishing charters in the area and this is the closest tarpon fishing near Orlando you will find. We target big tarpon here throughout the warmer months in the spring through the fall along the beaches, just outside the inlets. The backcountry tarpon fishing is done on the Mosquito Lagoon Indian River year round on the flats in New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet, Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach. Typically April through November, with May, June, July, August, September and October being prime time for big beach, nearshore and backcountry tarpon. However the smaller tarpon can be found throughout the area year round in the far backcountry waters of the Indian River, Banana River, Sebastian Inlet and the Mosquito Lagoon. These fish range around 5 to 20 pounds, which are perfect for light tackle applications of both spin and fly. Along the beaches on the nearshore fishing trips is where you will find the 100 plus pound tarpon. These begin showing up in April and is in full force all summer long. On these charters we also have a chance to catch several other fish as well, just not tarpon. Snook and redfish are in the same areas. Please contact me for details on booking a tarpon charter on the Mosquito Lagoon, Ponce Inlet, Port Canaveral, Banana River, Sebastian Inlet or Indian River. I would be happy to explain to you the different areas and choices you have and which charter might best fit your needs. Read More

The Indian River (originally name the "Rio de Ais") is a 156 mile long brackish waterway with an average depth of 4ft and widths varying from 0.5 to 5 miles. Heavily lined with mangrove forests, sandy islands and hidden oyster beds makes it one of the most unique fishing experiences out there. Our favorite species to target are Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Trout and Snapper. With a river that holds 685 different species of fish, every day on the water is a good day. We are a LGBTQ women owned outdoor guide service focusing on the sustainability and conservation of the environment around us while providing a safe and comfortable space for everyone to enjoy the outdoors. We know how intimidating it can be to exist as a person that people see as different in the outdoor industry. In knowing this, we do not discriminate against any race, gender or sexual orientation. New Smyrna Beach - Mosquito Lagoon

NEW
18 ft 1 - 2 People From $225 / person

You will be sight fishing from the bow of a flats skiff in the Mosquito Lagoon or Indian River Lagoon. Despite the scary name, there are no mosquitoes on the water. With clear skies and water, you can see fish within casting distance. In addition, we look for tails, fins, and wakes from single fish, groups or schools. Year round targets include redfish (red drum), spotted seatrout, and black drum. Seasonal catches may include tarpon and snook. Your captain has nearly 20 years of guiding experience specializing in sight fishing these waters. Capt. Chris is a certified fly casting instructor with the FFI for those wanting to improve their cast. Fly fishing in this area is primarily sight fishing which means you are casting at specific targets. 7 weight rods are used most often with 5, 9, and 12 wt rods for specific species. This trip is not for beginner level fly anglers due to the need for speed and accuracy in casting. I can provide all tackle and flies at no additional charge, or you may bring your own. In the event conditions for fly fishing are not optimal, spinning tackle will also be available on board. Fly fishing trips are usually started at first light unless otherwise dictated by weather or other factors discussed in advance. All trips are catch, photo, release only. Read More

Had a blast with Captain Jeremy. He put us on trout with the first cast and never let up finding the reds for us.
