Head out with Jackie for an exciting day of Striper fishing on Lake Buchanan! Lake Buchanan is one of the hottest striper fishing locations in Central Texas as a result of efforts by volunteers and stocking programs by the government. The striper fishing is excellent on this lake. The stripers start their yearly schooling & feeding activity in February. On this 4 or 8-hour trip, Jackie will motor you out on Lake Buchanan to go after some picture-worthy Crappie, Striped Bass and White Bass. You can target these fish using light tackle, by bottom fishing or creeping up on them with the trolling motor. This trip is great for beginners, and experienced anglers can have a great time too as they pile up the fish. No matter your skill level, Jackie will give you plenty of expert tips to help get some fish on the line! You'll be fishing aboard a 23' Redfin Center Console with room for 4 people. Powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine, this do-it-all vessel will have no problem getting you to the prime fishing spots. Spring Fishing report: Several lakes are fishing good right now in the central Texas area. We are catching 15-30 or more on a half day trip on Travis, Decker, LBJ and Buchanan. There are other lakes doing good as well. There are fish shallow and deep, but the big fish are shallow right now as they are spawning or close to it. If you are after that fish of a lifetime or just bigger fish, Lake Falcon and Choke Canyon is producing some great quality fish right now. It's always a great time to get that child on some fish. This listing is for trips departing in the AFTERNOON only. (If you wish to fish in the morning, go back and select the AM trip option) Trips on Lake Travis will depart out of Cody Park in Lago Vista. For an additional $50 charge to cover my extra time and fuel I also offer pick ups from private docks between Mile Markers 10-37, I also offer pick ups from the fuel dock at Rough Hollow Marina. If you would like to be picked up other than my normal meeting location at Cody Park please message me after booking. I can fit up to three anglers per trip. If you have a larger group please message me as I have two other licensed guides I work with and would be happy to help you arrange additional boats. Trips target Largemouth Bass. Guadalupe Bass, White Bass, Freshwater Drum, Catfish and Crappie are also common bycatch. We will be fishing with artificial lures. I offer both spinning and baitcasting combos, I can accomodate any skill level angler. All rods, reels, tackle, etc is provided. The only thing you must provide is a valid fishing license for any angler over the age of 16. (Upon booking you will receive a confirmation email including instructions on how to obtain a fishing license. It's extremely easy, you can pick one up from any sporting goods store or online via your phone in about 10 minutes.) Bottled water on ice is also provided. Children ages 5 and up are more than welcome! Please let me know if a child will be in your party and I will make sure to have an appropriate sized life jacket for them.
