Our water temperature is starting to come down, and the fish has started arriving. Big Spanish mackerel hit the grass flats late September through October. Also, Pompano join the party in the Bay as well. Speckled trout have begun packing on the pounds by eating pinfish almost as big as them. Well, Spanish mackerel, fishing I had this pinfish eat my Spanish Fly and the speckled trout eat my pinfish. Clients are doubling up mackerel and 3 to 4 pound ladyfish. If that doesn’t suit your fancy, sight fishing for redfish has also picked up.

Fishing is heating up redfish and trout in the Bayou, King mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and some red snappers in the Gulf, along with some mangrove and Vermillion snappers. A few red groupers and a few gag groupers as well.
