Captain Mikes South Padre Fishing Report 3/2/26. The bay fishing has remained decent to good through out the past couple of weeks. Catching solid redfish and speckled trout on soft plastics. Fresh cut bait and plastic lures are working good on the redfish out on the grass flats once the wind picks up. Actually been very windy and warmer weather recently and that combination has led to some outstanding redfish trips. Speckled trout are hanging deeper drop offs and working shallower as the heat of the day warms up. Everyone is catching black drum if you want to target them....

There are some large schools working the same old hangouts for them. I expect the bite to remain productive throughout the next month.
Between cold fronts the weather is great the black drum have been schooling up big time way big fun speckled trout on the intercoastal along with a few flounder and lots of sheep head live bait is a must. But topwater fishing big trout and redfish on the west side is started early

Inks Lake is at a normal level with stained water and about 2–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are hovering around 60°, and bass are moving through a mix of pre-spawn and early spawning patterns. Some fish are staging just off spawning areas while others are beginning to move shallow as the lake continues its transition toward the main spawn.
A reliable pattern has been fishing crankbaits and drop-shot rigs around submerged vegetation in roughly 8–12 feet of water. These areas are acting as key transition zones, and anglers who slow down and...

Black drum are still being caught, they are still in big schools, water levels are coming up. Trout being caught close to the intracoastal. Artificial lures are working good .

My Family and I had Fantastic Fishing Experience with Captain Arturo…!!! He was absolutely amazing with his knowledge and patient with showing the proper techniques to catch an abundance of fish. So much, that other Captains came to the spot where we were fishing lol. Looking forward to the next trip with my family to South Padre and I will definitely be planning my fishing trip moving forward with Arturo 🎣

We had an outstanding trip with Captain Anthony. The weather forecast ended up being way off, and we were dealing with 3–4 foot swells, but that didn’t stop him from putting us on the trout. His experience and determination really showed, and he worked hard to make sure we had a successful day on the water.
I took my three boys, and every one of us had an incredible time. The boat was clean, comfortable, and handled the rough conditions with ease. Captain Anthony was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and made the entire trip enjoyable from start to finish.
If you’re looking for a captain who knows how to find fish even when the conditions aren’t ideal, I highly recommend booking with Captain Anthony. We’ll definitely be back!
It may not have been our day to pull sharks out of the water but Tristan and his team made for a fantastic experience.. I asked lots of questions about the strategies they used to fish and learned so much. My family enjoyed their time and we will be looking forward to a future guided fish trip. Thanks again guys. Be safe out there
We had such a fantastic time with Tim! We took the half-day tour, and we even wrapped it up early because we had limited out on Trout. Tim was such a great and funny guide, showing us how and where to throw the bait/lures so we could catch fish—and we did! I would definitely recommend Tim for your next fishing trip to SPI. We’re always booking with Tim when we’re back here.
