Captain Spencers 25' Pathfinder is extremely versatile in this regard shallow enough to maneuver the backcountry and local grass flats, and sturdy enough to handle the light chop of the open ocean. The vessel also has a full tower which optimizes your fishing opportunities by sighting fish and bait easier. She can accommodate 6 guests, however, Captain Spencer prefers to fish with 4 or less. Head out of Big Pine Key to explore the Offshore waters and Reefs with Captain Mark. He will help you target a variety of Jacks, Dolphin (Mahi), just to name a few! He will provide all the finest gear from Penn and Shimano but also encourages you to bring your own gear if you'd like to land a big one on your own supply. All you'll need to bring is hat, Sunscreen, non-marking shoes, and a good pair of sunglasses … (Captain Mark asks that you please Do Not bring Spray Sunblock) You'll be heading out aboard his 21ft Mako which is a super fun boat to explore the open water in. This trip is only offered during lobster season, August 6 - March 31. If you're looking to mix it up out in Key West, this trip has your name on it! On this Lobstering trip—perfect for families—you'll use nets and "tickle sticks" to bag Spiny Lobsters, which are a blast to catch and even better to eat. Catching Lobsters takes a little practice, but once you've done it once, you'll never forget it. Captain Hunter can give you all the expert tips, but it's a simple task: use your tickle stick to coax the Lobsters into your net without letting them swim away, because if they decide to take off, they're surprisingly speedy. Once they're netted, you can swim back to the surface and throw that bug on ice! Captain Hunter provides the nets and sticks, but you'll need to bring along your own snorkel, scuba mask, fins, and gloves if you choose to wear them.
