Head out with Captain Randy to spot, stalk, and sight-cast to migrating Silver Kings on the gorgeous Florida Key's flats! This trip is not for the faint of heart! Tarpon are smart; they have great eyesight, they are very skittish, and sometimes they're flat out just not hungry! Being able to double-haul and make a good cast to the fish is just the first step—convincing a full-grown tarpon to actually eat your fly is a whole other business! Luckily, Captain Randy has spent most of his adult life throwing flies at these overgrown minnows, and knows all the best secrets, nuances, and stripping techniques to give you the best chances of hooking into the fight of your life! On a normal day, Captain Randy will meet you at the dock behind the famed Lorelei Restaurant in the heart of Islamorada. (Note: Randy keeps his boat trailered, so he can accommodate other pickup locations as well). After you hop aboard his 18' Hells Bay poling skiff (an absolute flats fishing machine) you'll head out to either the gulf side or stay inland to scout out the flats and back bays where these migrating tarpon like to pull off and rest or feed. Stalking the flats, Captain randy will either pole you up a flat, or anchor his skiff with his pole to wait for Tarpon to push through. Keeping your eye's peeled for the flashing glimmer of a rolling Tarpon, or the dark torpedo-like shadow of a cruising fish, you'll be at the bow of the boat, 12 weight in one hand, your fly in the other, poised and ready for action! It is always critical to spring into action quickly and efficiently when a tarpon is within range, and while this might sound straightforward and routine, wait till you feel how fast your heart starts racing when you hear Randy say: "1 o'clock. 40 feet." Don't forget your polarized sunglasses! These are essential out on the flats to help eliminate glare and see the fish as quickly as possible. Captain Randy can provide the rest of the gear for your trip if you need it, and will have a cooler with ice, water, and soft drinks ready to rock and roll. Feel free to bring a snack or pick up a sandwich from the Trading Post down the street on your way to the dock. You can also bring any other drinks of your choice as well to be stored in the cooler on board. Read More

Launching from Whale Harbor with Captain Larry puts you a mere 30 minutes ride offshore to the Gulf Stream's premier hot spots. Captain Larry and crew won’t waste a moment taking you to the action either. On these trips, you will head out up to 30 miles offshore and to target Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna, Amberjack, Wahoo, Shark, Marlin, Sailfish, King Mackerel, and more! If your interest peaked at dolphin/mahi-mahi, you should book your trip from May to October when the population explodes! The charter boat trolls rigged baits and lures to locate schools of dolphin that range from 5 to 50 pounds. Once a school is found, their voracious appetites and abundant numbers result in a feeding frenzy you’ll never forget. And, since Mahi is excellent table fare, you’ll want to keep them for dinner. Your boat’s mate will gladly fillet them and you can arrange to have your catch prepared at any of the local restaurants. From November to April, Captain Larry primarily targets sailfish, using live bait on light tackle. Catching the baitfish (ballyhoo) on the way out to the deep water is a super fun way to start off your adventure (Especially given the prospect that those fish will turn into even bigger fish!) The ballyhoo are chummed up to the surface, where they are caught by cast net or by fishing for them using tiny hair hooks. Once the bait well is full, the boat runs to the outside edge of the reef and the action begins. If you’ve never hooked into a 7-foot-long tail-walking sailfish on light tackle, you’re in for a thrill of a lifetime! We practice catch and release for all bill fishing and ask about no-kill fish mounts. All you need to bring for your trip with Captain Larry are your favorite snacks, drinks, and lunch if you'd like. Captain Larry will provide everything else from a captain & crew that cares, all the licenses, rods, tackle & bait, a clean & spacious vessel, and a filleting and bagging service for your catch! Captain GW was an awesome guide! As an angler I have a higher standard, however fishing with my 12 year old daughter, I was hoping that we’d get someone who was patient, knowledgeable and an all around good guy as well. Some guides are kinda too salty, but GW was great! Him and my daughter really hit it off, and he definitely put us on the fish, even with a hard wind. His boat kept us dry and rode really well despite the conditions. You can tell that he really loves what he does and enjoys the “total experience” of fishing these beautiful waters. We saw manatees, dolphin, all kinds of birds including flamingos! It was an awesome experience caught snook and redfish and had lots of action. Great guy, great boat, great experience.

Captain Casey went above and beyond today to put us on the fish, as well as being very accommodating! His boat is top of the line, and he has all nice new poles and reels, as well as everything on his boat is impeccably clean. You will have a relaxing experience with a captain who is extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of fishing and keeps you moving and busy for your time on the water. We knew right away once we met captain Casey at the marina we booked with the right captain because he is extremely professional, courteous, and as I stated earlier, extremely accommodating. For me personally, I ended landing the largest fish I have ever caught before which was really exciting. At the end of our trip, he did filet all of our fish and did a very good professional job, which was very nice so we did not have to do that. His first mate today was his cousin Luke, and he was very attentive to us, the rods, fish, upkeep with the boat, and anything you could imagine. Overall, we have found our main “guy” for fishing when we visit down here, which is fairly often because we only live 3 hours away. We are excited to go back out with Captain Casey again! If you want a true Florida keys fishing experience, Captain Casey is your guy!

NON-STOP ACTION! Captain Experiences “HOOKED” us up with Captain Ben! Captain Ben is not only professional but he has the experience, knowledge, patience and skill that put us on multi species of fish, in diverse weather conditions throughout the day!! My two sons and I agree, that fishing with Captain Ben was like fishing with a friend! We made memories that will last forever! April 25, 2023.

Ben was very knowledgeable as to where the fish were. From the Barricuda my grandson caught, to all the other fish my son in law, and myself caught. The weather was tremendous. Zach, and Ben changed their schedule to accommodate the 2 families. Will definitely book with them again.
