Fishing the offshore waters of North East Florida can be world class. Lots of options depending on the time of year and water temps. We usually break it down into two categories trolling and bottom fishing. Trolling we prefer using live bait and 30 lb. conventional tackle. Targeting king mackerel, cobia, bonita, barracuda, sailfish, mahi and sometimes even blackfin tuna. This all depends on conditions and the time of year we fish. Usually we start the day by throwing a cast net for live bait or stopping on a piece of structure to jig up some minnows using a sabibki rig. Once the baitwells are loaded its off to the fishing grounds. All depending on where the bite has been best is where we start to fish. Sometimes it can be a few miles out and other days we need to run 10-12 miles offshore. Bottom fishing can be wide open off of our coast as well targeting red snapper, vermillion snapper, black seabass, amberjack, grey grouper, cobia and triggerfish just to name a handful.
