Join Captain Joe on an epic duck hunt in the shallow waters bays, marshes, and mangrove inlets around of Matagorda, Texas. Joe goes above and beyond to work hard to ensure your hunt with us is a successful one. All of our hunts are conducted in Matagorda public waters spacious shorelines and we use premium decoys. We have access to East and West Matagorda Bay, this allows us to consistently put our clients on birds throughout the season. You can expect to shoot a wide variety of ducks including mallards, pintails, widgeon, teal, gadwall, redheads and canvasbacks. We will meet at one of the various local boat ramps Freeport,Texas before we head out to hunt. Will be hunting different areas in Freeport and Matagorda area. Depending on time year and where birds are located will be hunting different areas some private and others public areas. You will be responsible for bringing your own hunting license, gun and duck stamp. Reach out let us know how we can help provide an excellent guided hunting trip. South Texas is perfectly situated for epic waterfowl hunting. Located smack in the middle of the Central Flyway, the area is an annual stopover for millions of ducks, who come to rest in the protected bays and inshore waters while they migrate. Species here include Green-Winged and Blue-Winged Teals, Cinnamon Teals, Wigeons, Redheads, Pintails, Gadwalls, and Mottled Ducks—all of which are a blast to shoot and good eating as well. On this trip, your outfitter, Terry, will make sure to put you in the perfect spot to nail some inbound waterfowl. He'll provide the blinds and decoys, so all you need to bring is your waders, your guns, and your shells. Head on down to Freeport Texas and experience a fun and memorable hunting trip. 5am I'll meet you at the boat ramp and we will discuss the plan of action for that morning. You'll get to meet Remi dog and of course she is always happy to meet new folks. And then we load up and head to the blind. Most walk ins are fairly easy and not too far from shore. Expect to see plenty of teal, we will also get to shoot at gadwall and pintail most hunts. If I've been seeing quite a few geese in the area we will throw a goose spread as well to see if we can get lucky. (It does happen) Safety is first always. And then having fun is mandatory. On this epic nighttime hog hunt, you'll head out out after dusk to bag some feral pigs with thermal scopes. Hogs are a major problem in Texas and across the South, causing more than 50 million dollars' worth of annual agricultural damage in Texas alone! Removing hogs from the environment directly benefits the native wildlife and the local community , and is a real blast for hunters of all experience levels. This is a night hunt, so you'll get out there around 7 PM, or just after dusk, and spend around seven hours stalking the hogs. Although there are no guarantees, Colt's hog hunts are extremely successful, and you can bag 10+ hogs on a given night. Hogs are most active at night, when they prefer to feed, so this is a perfect way to max out your hunting experience. Colt provides the firearms (with suppressors) and all the ammunition is included.
