This is a three person half day private bay duck hunting trip near South Padre Island, Texas. The Lower Laguna Madre has some of the finest duck hunting in the United States when conditions are right. Hunting along the edges of the fronts is absolutely the most ideal time to plan a trip. Multiple species move through this bay system on their way South. Large concentrations of redheads and pintails winter here. Other species that migrate through the South Padre area are widgeon, teal, shovelers, scaup, and others. Clients can bring their own retriever if discussed beforehand with the guide. Typically, hunt over decoy spreads consisting of at least 75 decoys. Season starts in November and goes out for two weeks after Thanksgiving Sunday. Starts again on Second Saturday in December and typically goes to last Sunday in January. Guides prefer to duck hunt in the afternoon and will provide a seasoned retriever. This is a fun activity and most clients return to go again. These are not easy hunts and do require some labor. We work with a couple of seasoned taxidermists that can also mount the trophy bird if any clients are interested at a reasonable price. Read More

Captain Mark will ferry you're group out to an island or a duck blind out in the bay and run back to the dock to wait for ya'll to text him when you're done. Captain Mark reccomends--and most every duck hunter will agree--that you should bring your own decoy spread and duck calls to hunt over. Once Captain Mark drops you off you'll set out your decoys, brush yourself in or bring your own blind, and if you're experienced enough to handle it, blast ducks until you hit your limit. South Texas Hog and Javelina Hunting What a Blast! These hunts are conducted late January through mid-March respectively, after deer season, while it's cool and the wild game are used to coming to the feed from the years’ closed deer hunting season. We have several ranches scattered throughout the South Texas brush country and the Hill Country area around Austin / San Antonio insuring you have a good hunt. Ranches vary in size from 1,000 to 15,000 acres. We only hunt a particular ranch for a week or so before moving onto another which aids in our hunters in always being on fresh game which equates to usually higher success rates. Long before your hunt, we will have set up rifle & archery stands, and have filled corn feeders at different ranches to keep the hogs and other game coming to them without being molested so that every hunter has an equally fair chance at non-pressured game. Hunts are a semi guided type of hunt, where once you arrive at ranch, we will show you around the ranch to familiarize you with stand locations and lay of the land, then "turn you loose" to do your own hunting. We will also advise you on which areas of the ranch look more promising than others so that your chances of harvesting go up, instead of you going in blind and wasting precious hunting time trying to find game "hotspots". Brent, personally, will be at the ranch for any help you may need during your hunt at all times, and will feed stand location roads every afternoon also aiding in drawing the game out of the brush and cutting down on your valuable hunting time. Unlike diving ducks and puddle ducks, Wood Ducks move on a much more consistent schedule and they don't dally. Between first light and sunrise, big flocks move from the roost site to their food source, all at once. If you're hitting your marks, you can have a very efficient morning hunt! Lake Livingston attracts many species of puddle and diving ducks. Wood Ducks and Mallards, are the most sought-after here. They prefer backwater habitats, especially the sloughs and oxbows common in this area. Kirk has been hunting this lake for years and has the perfect honey holes and set ups, coupled with proper scouting, to get you plenty of shots on the Woodys.
