South Florida Fishing Report Offshore action has been steady, with mahi fishing producing decent results in depths ranging from 900 to 1,500 feet of water. Anglers are finding success around broken debris and floating seaweed lines, where schools of mahi have been holding. Both artificial lures and live baits have been effective, giving fishermen plenty of opportunities throughout the day. On the reef, the snapper bite has really started to heat up. Ponce Inlet area is producing as expected for this time in June and had thrown in a few surprises. With the regular slot and just over slot reds and Snook we are seeing nice numbers of tarpon and last week were catching Permit in the inlet. The permit and tarpon coming on flat lined Select Shrimp and small Blue crabs.

> The grand finale was a beautiful Mako. We watched it circle the slick for a while before it finally crashed the short line. We got it boat-side, used the dehooker for a clean, safe release, and watched it swim away strong.

Another solid day on the water with Captain’s Experience! Redfish have been fired up, crushing baits along the banks and around structure. Trout bite has been steady on the moving tide with some quality fish mixed in, and flounder are starting to show up in the usual ambush spots.
