Water temps are rising and the bite is turning on! Vermillion snapper are beginning to be plentiful and red grouper have been showing up in good numbers. Trigger fish are plentiful as well, but you have to fish through the shorts to get the keepers! As the weather continues to warm up the bite will get even better!

- Beaches and nearshore flats: Sight fish for redfish along sandbars and back of the beach troughs — sight casting with shrimp, topwater plugs, or jerkbaits when you can see wakes or tailing fish.
- Offshore/open water: Late‑March offshore bite is developing — opportunities for wahoo and swordfish. Expect trolling or deep‑water techniques for open‑water pelagics.
Tips
- Fish tides and solunar peaks for best action; check exact tide times for your launch spot.
- Calm, clear conditions favor sight‑fishing for reds and trout — approach quietly and watch for tails/wakes.
I get and see has the Spanish mackerel here in our bay and pass any day now. The pompano migration will show here in just a few more days as well.
We have been catching sheephead of world class size and good Gulf bottom fish like scamp grouper, red grouper, and vermillion snapper lately.

Redfish, black drum, and speckled trout have been biting like crazy in the second half of the incoming tide. Shrimp under popping corks or natural colored soft plastics have been getting the job done. This was from Wednesday, lost count of how many fish we caught before we were an hour into it!

You might get lucky (as long as things are in-season).

If you want to have a great time and catch lots of fish, look no further!! This was such a fun experience for our family of 4. Captain Heath was the best guide ever!! We caught lots of fish and even got a chance to do a little snorkeling. We had the best time and will definitely be booking with him again asap!
Blake accommodated our location by coming 30 minutes closer to Navarre, great start. We fought some wind but overall had a great afternoon. Blake was very knowledgeable and courteous to my two young boys, which for me ensures he’ll get our business again. The highlight of the day was our rescue of a pelican wrapped up in fishing line, absolutely amazing to see and watch Blake in his element, saving wildlife. A hands on miracle!
Captain Bryars put us on the fish early and often. Deckhand Logan was very attentive, and helped my son with his personal bests (plural). Great charter for children and adults alike. Can’t recommend enough!
Captain David was really friendly and had the knowledge it took to catch fish. He took extra time to show/teach 9 year old grandson how to catch 4 different species of saltwater fish. Thanks again captain.
Had an amazing day with Jordan, he was great with my older kids and we caught a lot of fish! He helped filet our catch of the day which was so delicious. We would hire Jordan again when we return to fish in Destin!
Brought my kids on the trip. Craig and crew were very accommodating and assisted family so I could also catch fish. Very friendly and highly recommend if bringing a family with mixed age group. Caught many snapper and get a few larger fish, grouper, Bonita, amber jack.
I will be looking up Craig for my next fishing trip in Destin.
