Fly Fishing Charters Near St. Petersburg, Fl
When you get out there with Captain Tommy, you're in for the ultimate hunt. Whether that's giant tailing Redfish and cruising Snook along a mangrove-covered shoreline, or "gator" Trout laid up in a pothole, you'll be out in it, casting to some of the top gamefish species in America. The Tarpon Springs area and its surrounding estuaries are home to an abundance of fish, including the three above. On this trip, you'll be targeting these species in very shallow, crystal-clear water over grass flats. This is strictly a sight fishing game and is somewhat similar to a spot-and-stalk big game hunt, in which we'll pole over miles of endless flats, looking for fish moving in transition with the tide. With the weather being generally clear and calm, it's a very effective time to present a fly to these hungry fish. This style of fishing will put your angling skills to the test, and is extremely effective when conditions are in your favor. Join Captain Tommy to complete that slam on fly, or just explore a new style of fishing! Read More
Shallow Water Flyfishing
Picture this: crystal-clear sand flats, lines of giant migrating Tarpon, and you up on the bow with your fly rod in hand. Few things in the world of sport fishing compare to pursuing a Tarpon with a fly rod! These powerful, acrobatic fish are something special, and they'll leave you with an unexplainable emotion that's difficult to put into words. These fish are the top predators in their inshore habitat, and hooking one is the experience of a lifetime. You'll chase bites using purist flyfishing techniques, which are challenging but make the act of hooking a Tarpon all that much better! Tarpon behavior changes depending on the season, the water conditions, and even the phases of the moon, so Captain Tommy's expertise here is absolutely invaluable. He'll make sure you're rigged with the ideal patterns, and has tons of expert advice to improve your presentation, retrieve, and hookset and increase your chances of landing a big fish! The west coast of Florida is a major migration path for the "Silver Kings", due to the bays and riverways along the coast. In fact, several world records have been caught and broken just a short boat ride from where you'll fish, so get out there and throw some lines! Read More

What’s the difference between a clearwater fishing guide & a charter captain? Anyone can go out and pass a test to get a Charter Captains' license. However, a guide is someone who truly knows how to fish in the area. From having the right equipment, boat, waterway knowledge to knowing what is biting on a summer's morn vs. a winter's eve and what bait to use in each scenario. Captain Craig is a true, ‘Clearwater Fishing Guide’. From shallow grass flats fishing to the bays, Captain Craig's flats fishing charters are among the best in the area. His flats charters include taking one to 3 persons to areas such as the grass flats, nearshore, backwaters, and bays along Clearwater and Tarpon Springs and even into Tampa Bay. These flats fishing experiences include casting with artificial or live bait along with traditional & fly fishing with no price disparity between any technique or quarry! Expect to catch snook, redfish, tarpon, mackerel, sharks, cobia, threadfin, & more! You will be fishing aboard Captain Craigs 21' Backcountry Flats boat equipped with a trolling motor and polling platform which allow Captain Craig to sneak you up on the fish to get the best possible look at catching them! This boat can maneuver the skinny water (hence the name of his charter) to chase down the awesome flats fish like tailing Reds, Snook, and even Tarpon! Captain Craig will provide almost everything for your flats fishing adventure from rods, reels, tackle, bait, fishing licenses, and even fish cleaning though he does encourage catch and release. Tampa Bay Fishing - 22’ Aguasport
Head out for an awesome fishing adventure around Sarasota, FL with Captain Darius! Though he loves running further from shore to bottom fish the reefs for grouper, snapper, and pelagic species, the weather conditions have to be pretty stellar to allow this kind of trip. Thus, aboard his 23' Parker, he spends a lot of time hammering the inshore with his clients, and there are no shortage of fish (and big ones at that!) to catch! Lush grass flats abound in this area. These shallow grass flats are full of crabs, shrimp, and baitfish which in turn attract the game fish. Snook, Speckled Trout, and Redfish are the most sought after species, but you can also expect to hook into Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Flounder, Bluefish, Ladyfish, and others! Fishing the shallow flats requires patience and attention to detail. Fish are spooky in water that is only a couple of feet deep. The beauty of Captain Darius' 23' Parker is that it has a shallow enough draft to get you good shots up on the flats and in the back bays and inlets, while also having enough room and stability to haul it further offshore on a nice day! All of Captain Darius' trips include ice, bottled water, tournament grade fishing gear, live bait, licenses, and fish cleaning at end of the trip. There is plenty of room in the cooler as well for your favorite snacks and drinks if you'd like to bring them along as well. Captain Darius' main pick-up location is on Siesta Key, but depending on where you are staying he can also meet up with you at Hart's Landing or Ken Thomspon Park Boat Ramp. Read More

Capt. Rick and Hope were the best we’ve had a chance to fish with! Great boat, everything you need is offered, good fishing, and a lot of fun. We will be fishing with them again soon and I highly recommend if you are traveling with the whole family, friends, or kids. They have it covered.
Jason L. with Ron F. of St. Petersburg, Florida
We all had a great time during the fishing trip. We caught quite a few fish that we got to keep. The deck hand was on top of his game and took good care of us as we were catching fish. The Captain had a cooler of water, a bathroom on board and cleaned all of our fish for us. My daughter and I got a little sea sick but we all had a great time regardless.
Patti K. with Greg M. of St. Petersburg, Florida
Captain Ray was great with our kids and got us into a lot of fish. Load of fun.
Jasin P. with Ray C. of St. Petersburg, Florida
The trip I had with Captain Roy was amazing! Being from out of town he was very helpful because I'm used to fishing for pan fish and fishing in Florida is a little different then that. My buddy, his 6 year old son, and I all had a lot of laughs and caught some fish. Caught my biggest fish and got to see a dolphin swimming around our boat. I'll definitely be planning on another trip with Captain Roy.
Mark C. with Roy J. of St. Petersburg, Florida
It was a slow morning but our guide kept moving and trying spots. Was talking with other guide friends to get on a hot bite but it was slow for everyone. We did get some keeper sheep head and the guide was easy to talk to. I would try again with them if we get back here again.
Robert K. with Thomas D. of St. Petersburg, Florida
Awesome day fishing with Adam! He was an awesome guide and we ended the day catching a shark! Adam thanks for the great memories!
Tom J. with Adam H. of St. Petersburg, Florida
Captain Hank was awesome! Called the day before to make a plan on what to fish for. Result was sharks, which my 9 year old son was out of his mind excited for. On the half day trip, we caught 5 sharks and probably 50 bait fish…an unforgettable experience!!
James L. with Hank V. of St. Petersburg, Florida

Caroline E. with Hank V. of St. Petersburg, Florida
We had the most awesome experience offshore fishing with Captain Adam on Playin’ Hooky! He was ready and waiting for us at the boat ramp, before the sun came up. As soon as we met him, we knew we were going to have an awesome time! The boat was brand new, clean, and spacious. We wanted fish to eat and the experience of reeling in some big ones. Captain Adam did not disappoint! He put us right on top of them! He cleaned our fish and we went straight to the restaurant to have them prepared. Thank you, Adam, for the experience of a lifetime!
Rebecca M. with Adam H. of St. Petersburg, Florida
