If you've ever wanted to go after the biggest, baddest gamefish that the Gulf of Mexico has to offer, then this trip is your ticket. There is no better opportunity to take a crack at all of the best-known offshore species, including Yellowfin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, and Wahoo. These lightning-fast pelagic predators are world-famous for a reason—they fight harder and fight longer than almost all other species, and should be on any self-respecting saltwater angler's lifetime bucket list. Captains John and Martha are true offshore specialists, and they know better than anyone how to put you on trophy fish and help you land them. If you don't believe us, just take a look at their pictures, and see for yourself the giants they're catching! This is an overnight trip, so depending on when you choose to get off the dock, you'll be fishing most of one day and part of the next. This is an ideal opportunity to catch fish, as you'll get to go further and try you hand during a wider variety of times and conditions. On this trip, you'll primarily be trolling a variety of baits and lures, looking to attract fast-moving fish such as Wahoo, Tuna, and Marlin. There are also opportunities for bottomfishing as well, if you're interested in catching delicious eating fish such as Tilefish and Red Snapper, or photo-worthy prizewinners such as Red Grouper and Amberjack. You'll be chasing these fish aboard a 40' Invincible catamaran—an ideal vessel for comfort, performance, and speed! In the words of the boat manufacturer, "Sea-keeping ability is our objective with the 40’. We created a boat that would tear through seas from any direction, while still being able to maneuver turns at high speeds. It was designed to go far in less than optimal running conditions." She's powered by four 300 HP engines, so you'll be on the fish in a hurry! Your Captain will come prepared with everything you need for a great day, including top-of-the-line rods, reels, bait, and tackle. Most importantly, John and Martha are genuine expert in their home waters and will do everything they can to get you hooked up on a personal best! Bring along proper clothing, sunscreen, and a pair of polarized sunglasses to maximize your time on the water. Read More

Arrive at the marina, get settled into your accommodations – either the houseboat you’ve rented or your hotel room. Head on over to Crawgators or Cypress Grill for a cold one and some fresh Louisiana seafood, then it’s time to get some shut eye. Your alarm clock signals the start of day. Grab a coffee, slap on some sunblock and get picked up by the boat at your house boat! Just jump on and head out. Staying at the hotel? Just walk over to the dock in the morning and off we go. The run to the fishing grounds starts with a 20 mile run down river. Listen to the quad suzuki purr in harmony as the smooth 42’ Razorhead hits cruising speed. Enjoy the ride from a bean bag chair. Stop to get bait. Get to the fishing grounds. Now it’s time to fish. Lines in, anxiously anticipating the first strike…then it happens, the clicker sounds….vrr, vrrr, vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Engage the reel and hang on as the circle fish finds its home in the corner of a yellowfin tuna’s mouth. Rod loads, drag peels off on the first massive run. You pump and wind, pump and wind to recover line. Then the tuna takes off for a second run. Pump and wind, pump and wind and finally you hear the mate shout ‘we’ve got color’. You look down and see the profile of a beautiful tuna, sicles and all, slowly coming up in a wide spiral. Finally the fish breaks the surface and the mate delivers a perfect gaff shot – fish caught. You’re overcome with happiness, satisfaction, relief, excitement all at once. The picture captures the moment for you to reflect on for years to come. Then, you do it again. Crack a cold one, have a sandwich and watch your buddy experience what you just went through yourself. After the tuna action, you decide to mix things up. It’s bonus fish time; switch your target and set your sights on swordfish, grouper, snapper, mahi, or wahoo. At the end of the day of catching, you’re back on plane and heading to the marina in the bean bag. Tired but accomplished. The crew cleans your catch so you can pack your coolers full of gorgeous tuna for the trip home. Don’t forget to save a piece for dinner! After a shower and change of clothes, bring a piece over to the restaurant and they’ll prepare it for you. It doesn’t get much fresher than that. Enjoy a meal, a beverage, but not too many, because you booked a second day. Tomorrow, you experience Venice tuna fishing the way it’s meant to be all over again! You haven’t been to Tuna Town unless you’ve fished with Josh. Lock it in! You won't regret it! Read More

I’ve fished in several states all over the country including AK and Troy was by far the best “Captain “ we have used. Picked us up right off our house boat! Very knowledgeable and helpful. Was also patient with kids. Will definitely be going back!

Excellent trip with Captain Donnie! An experience every sportsman needs. Tails Up/Sea Cruiser will be my only go to when fishing out of Venice. Donnie is a true professional and will make sure you get on the fish no matter what it takes. His new Contender is a battle wagon and he and his crew are second to none.
