Head out with Jackie for an exciting day of Striper fishing on Lake Buchanan! Lake Buchanan is one of the hottest striper fishing locations in Central Texas as a result of efforts by volunteers and stocking programs by the government. The striper fishing is excellent on this lake. The stripers start their yearly schooling & feeding activity in February. On this 4 or 8-hour trip, Jackie will motor you out on Lake Buchanan to go after some picture-worthy Crappie, Striped Bass and White Bass. You can target these fish using light tackle, by bottom fishing or creeping up on them with the trolling motor. This trip is great for beginners, and experienced anglers can have a great time too as they pile up the fish. No matter your skill level, Jackie will give you plenty of expert tips to help get some fish on the line! You'll be fishing aboard a 23' Redfin Center Console with room for 4 people. Powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine, this do-it-all vessel will have no problem getting you to the prime fishing spots. It comes equipped with GPS, a troll motor and Supernova LED fishing lights to make your day of fishing as productive as possible! Jackie will provide quality rods, reels and tackle, and he'll also clean any keepers for you to take home! What types of striped bass fishing trips are common in Texas?

Lake fishing is the most popular type of fishing for striped bass in Texas as well as river fishing and inshore fishing.

The most common fishing techniques in Texas are light tackle fishing, artificial lure fishing, and bottom fishing but trolling and heavy tackle fishing are popular as well.

How much does a Texas striped bass fishing trip cost?

Prices for striped bass in Texas can range anywhere from about $365 to $1,050, but the average price for a half day trip for striped bass in Texas is $549. The average price for a full day trip for striped bass in Texas is $1,937.

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for striped bass fishing in Texas?

The most popular season for striped bass fishing in Texas is spring, and most anglers book their trips 39 days in advance.

We had a great float trip! Our guides, Cody and Mitch were fantastic!! They were very knowledgeable of the river how to get us on fish. We had a beginner that had never fly fish before and Cody and Mitch were very patient with teaching him how to cast and catch fish on a fly rod. I would highly recommend these guys for fishing on the Brazos!
