This lake is filled with mostly Largemouth, but Derek occasionally targets Stripers, Sandbass, and Catfish as well. He likes to target these species on light tackle gear using a variety of bass soft plastic and hard baits. Whichever flavor suits your fancy, Derek can definitely accommodate. Derek can take up to 2 guests on these half-day adventures. You will be fishing aboard his 18ft bass boat, which is suited to all your needs on Lake Travis. The vessel is powered by a 115 Yamaha engine that will power you across the smooth surface of the lake with speed. Derek masterfully guides the vessel to put you on your prey, taking you to his favorite fishing holes on the lake. Derek can provide all the fishing gear for you: rods, reels, artificial lures, and light tackle for you, but encourages you to bring your own if you'd like as well. For an additional $50 charge to cover my extra time and fuel I also offer pick ups from private docks between Mile Markers 10-37, I also offer pick ups from the fuel dock at Rough Hollow Marina. If you would like to be picked up other than my normal meeting location at Cody Park please message me after booking. I can fit up to three anglers per trip. If you have a larger group please message me as I have two other licensed guides I work with and would be happy to help you arrange additional boats. Trips target Largemouth Bass. Guadalupe Bass, White Bass, Freshwater Drum, Catfish and Crappie are also common bycatch. We will be fishing with artificial lures. I offer both spinning and baitcasting combos, I can accomodate any skill level angler. All rods, reels, tackle, etc is provided. The only thing you must provide is a valid fishing license for any angler over the age of 16. (Upon booking you will receive a confirmation email including instructions on how to obtain a fishing license. It's extremely easy, you can pick one up from any sporting goods store or online via your phone in about 10 minutes.) Bottled water on ice is also provided. Come join Captain Trey on this fishing adventure in New Braunfels, Texas! You'll be fishing the San Marcos, the Guadalupe, or the Colorado River, depending on the fishing conditions and season! All of these rivers are pretty much jammed with great fish, so you can hook a mixed bag of Largemouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, and even White Bass! Don't worry if you're new to fly fishing - Captain Trey is happy to teach you all the tricks of the trade. You'll have a blast reeling in these feisty fish and bragging to your friends about your catch. On this trip, you'll be fishing from Trey's 12' drift boat, which is ideal for river fishing because it can easily move with the current and can get into shallow riffles and slow seams where fish like to hang out. As you cast your line and wait for a bite, you'll also be treated to stunning views of the surrounding environment. There are plenty of birds, deer, and other critters here to keep your eyes open for. This is a fly fishing trip for the annual white bass run above Lake Whitney. Guests will meet the guide at Hamm Creek Park near Rio Vista and travel up the Brazos River in a 18 foot center console boat.
