Hot, sunny and south wind. The days we wait all year for are here. Inshore or Offshore this is the best time of the year for sport fishing. The bait bite in the backcountry has been stellar with all the species cooperating nicely. Snook, Redfish and juvenile Tarpon have been steady. Just awaiting the big strings of migrating Tarpon to show up out front. Will be any day now. Things have been epic offshore with massive schools of Permit, swarms of Amberjacks and plenty of barracudas to pull on. Were sight fishing all of these species and catching a lot of Amberjacks on the fly which has been a lot of fun. There’s also some enormous Mangroves chewing for anyone who wants some fish to eat in between the sport fishing craziness. We will be serving up bucket list Permit and Tarpon trips all Spring and Summer. We’re filling numerous trips daily for April and May. Please reach out to any of our Captains with any questions you may have. Looking forward to an epic Spring with you all!

The redfish bite is hot right now in Port Orange to Flagler Beach. The fish are moving up chasing mullet and other small bait fish on the oysterbars. Water keeps getting warmer, and the snappers are heating up with it. I am starting to see small Spanish mackerel and ladyfish in the river and around ponce. Spring is definitely in the air.

In like a lion out like a lamb, the month of March is certainly living up to its reputation. We have had water temperatures sore into the 80s, then right back down into the 60s with the numerous fronts we have had. Cooler water means deeper areas for the snook, trout, and redfish inshore and spawning sheepshead and snapper on our Tampa Bay rock piles. With some site fishing for Cobia on the calm days tomorrow we're heading out to the Gulf of America for a little bottom fishing and to see if the kingfish are here yet. Let's get you booked in for some unforgettable memories and another great Captain's experience.

Groupers have been chewing consistently, and they are eating everything right now—cut bait, live bait, and artificials. Speckled trout have made a comeback in the bay area, and we are seeing a lot of overslots more consistently every day! Good eating meat in the box! They are eating live pinfish, shrimp, and white bait like they have never seen them before. Big black drums are showing up in good numbers on the bridges, and they are slamming the artificial and cut crabs. The snook and redfish are getting back to their normal spring patterns of eating cut bait, white bait, and pinfish! the bite at night is just as good , if not better then the daytime bite when it starts to warm up 🎣

Water on the mosquito lagoon is low but very clear and fishy. Fish are more than willing to eat a fly.

Fishing report from Ashley B. in Tampa, Florida

Recent trips have produced some quality snook and trout, and some Spanish mackerel are showing up also. We have been using artificial lures and live bait and doing very well. There are also some big redfish and huge snook cruising around the mangroves right now.
