Enjoy this trip on one of North Texas' most beautiful rivers—the Brazos. You'll be in a perfect place to catch over ten species of freshwater sportfish, all while surrounding yourself with some of the best scenery this part of the state has to offer. From November to February, Texas Parks and Wildlife stocks this section of the Brazos with Rainbow Trout, so you can get a Rocky Mountain fly fishing experience without having to leave the state. This trip is a great "mixed bag" adventure, and because Bass, Trout, Gar, Cats, and Crappie all eat some of the same bugs, you never know what species is going to blow up your fly! Wade trips are also a great way for you to work on technique by receiving specific, one-on-one instruction from a professional fly fishing guide. Your guide, Ben, will provide everything you need for an epic trip, including rods, reels, tippet, and flies. The fish are biting—what are you waiting for?! Read More

Guided fly fishing trips targeting largemouth, smallmouth, guadalupe bass and trout. **Guadalupe River** The fall and winter months find us chasing trophy sized Rainbow and Brown trout on the Guadalupe River below Canyon Lake Dam. The efforts of Texas Parks and Wildlife along with the Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited chapter have helped make this river one of the top trophy trout fisheries in the U.S. Catching trout in the 20+ inch range is very common. Tyler offers half or full day raft fly fishing trips from mid October through the Spring months. **San Marcos River** The San Marcos River is one of our top Bass fishing destinations in TX. An abundance of trophy sized Largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, and Tyler's favorite, the Smallmouth Bass. We offer Full or Half day float trips on a beautiful remote stretch of river near Martindale TX. Its tough to beat throwing deer hair poppers off the banks and getting absolutely BLOWN UP by an angry bass! Come spend a day on this beautiful spring fed fishery with Tyler and see what the talk is all about! **Blanco River** The Blanco River is another great bass fishery located just outside the small town of Blanco TX. We spend many days on this river during the early spring and summer months. An otherwise not so pressured fishery, the Blanco offers great opportunity of catching big bass on the fly. We offer full and half day float trips on the Blanco! For Half Day trips, Tyler only provides ice, water and any special request beverages you would like to enjoy. So make sure to bring snacks if you think you might need them! Everything is provided on his Full Day Trips. Read More

trip description for Rockport Duck Slam in Rockport

Enjoy an unforgettable experience duck hunting in Rockport TX, an area not only renowned within the state of Texas, but also across the country as one of the best places to hunt due to its wide variety of bird species and the tremendous bird population. By choosing us as your Rockport duck hunting guides, you can fulfill your dream of hunting down the following species without any hassle and without the need for any former experience in hunting: Redhead, Bluebills, Ringneck, Widgeon, Pintail, Greenwing, Bluewing, Northern shoveler, Gadwall, Bufflehead, and Goldeneye. On top of that you can have one of the best chances in the Lower 48 at killing a Cinnamon Teal! Leaf's Texas duck hunting trips are fun and offer several benefits, and provide a mentally stimulating challenge to hunters as well. Duck hunting can range in difficulty but oftentimes can pose quite a challenge. Waterfowlers need to be deceptive with decoys, stay patient, and account for factors such as wind and migration patterns. Duck hunting prevents overpopulation, and in turn, preserves native biodiversity. This makes your contribution to duck hunting in Texas go beyond just the thrill of trophy hunts — you are helping out the planet. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to disconnect from our interconnected world. Many work on computer screens all day and then go home to use TV’s, laptops, phones, tablets, you name it. Technology provides conveniences, but sometimes you need a break from it—not only to feel better, but for the sake of your health, too. Duck hunting serves as a great escape to nature. A mere few hours in nature help you not only escape our digital world—but also let you alleviate stress in a positive way. Getting away from the ordinary provides an important refresher for your body and mind! All the decoys, blinds, and transportation are taken care of on the trips, all you need to bring with you is your shotgun (12 gauge recommended), steel shot shells, and waders. Leaf and his team will take care of the rest! Read More

Jake brought my brothers and me out onto Lake Travis for Guadalupe Bass. Jake put all of us onto Guads and multiple other species as well. Jake was great with explaining everything he did and how to best use different techniques for catching fish. He was also incredibly friendly and personable and was hands down the best guide I’ve ever been on. This was honestly one of the funnest days of fishing I’ve ever had, and it definitely was for my brothers as well! I will probably make another trip with my brothers in the future with Jake for another great day! I highly recommend Jake to anglers of any experience who want to get on some nice fish and just have a great time! Thanks again for a great time, Jake! Hopefully we’ll get back out there with you again!

Jake is great! We booked a 4hr bass fishing trip on Lake Travis after reading his Captain Experiences page. As someone who has never done bass fishing, I needed to learn the basics. Jake was super patient showing us the ropes. We learned how to reel in, set hooks, cast and dislodge stuck lures. We also caught nearly 10 bass including a couple of Guadeloupe bass. I would certainly book again.

I highly recommend Captain Experiences and Jake. The customer service was great from booking to confirming the trip. We had a wonderful experience with Jake. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and made sure we had a great time. His boat and set provided for a comfortable trip. Jake provided great instruction and encouragement for my 11 year old son. We got to fish in a lot of different spots ensuring that we caught fish. Jake also helped us take great photos.

We really enjoyed our trip with Jake. It was only supposed to be a half day (4 hours) but it ended up being a 5.5 hour trip! Jake really has a passion for fishing and that is obvious and makes the experience so great. It was just what we needed! We will definitely go with Jake again!
