trip description for Chasing Deep Water Giants in Port Orange

Strap in for a real deal offshore experience exploring the deep water of NE Florida with Captain Matt. He will go above and beyond to make sure he puts you right on top of the fish. After you get settled in aboard his 30' Sea Hunt Center Console, Captain Matt will crank up his twin 300 Yamaha's to motor anywhere from 15-40 miles offshore. Once you're out there get ready for some offshore trolling, bottom fishing and fish catching! While trolling you can expect to hook into the likes of King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo and more, while bottom fishing can produce more Snapper species, a variety of Grouper Species, Amberjack and the occasional Jack and Cobia. Beyond the species listed, there are plenty more species the Gulf can offer up as well so you never know! For 6 and 8 hour trips, you are slightly more limited by the commute and are usually restricted to less variety in your techniques and areas fished. 10 hour trips open a lot of doors to bouncing around different spots and targeting different pelagic fish like Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and rouge Tuna! You'll be fishing aboard a 30ft Sea Hunt with a capacity for 5 people. Its twin 300 HP Yamaha's will get you offshore in a hurry to make the most of the time spent motoring around! It comes with the essentials such as GPS, Fishfinder, a Live Bait Well, and an Ice Box to store your catches. Everything you reel in is yours to keep, and Captain Matt will happily clean any keepers for no additional cost! Captain Matt will provide all the rods, reels, tackle, and live bait. All you need to bring is sunglasses, sunscreen, and any snacks or drinks you might need, and rested arms... hooking into these pelagic beasts is one thing, getting them to the boat is the tricky part! I could not have asked for a better outfit to take our family fishing. Captain Keith took us to the best spots and we caught something each time. Pat and Captain Keith were amazing with our diversity of age and skill level. Thank you again.

We booked for a family trip, and it was amazing!!! All of us enjoyed it thoroughly. Pat and Keith were on point, we had two boys 12 and 14 with us we all caught fish. I cannot say enough good things about this experience or Offshore Addiction's captain and crew!!

Captain John and is mate did an excellent job in making sure my family had a very good experience in the golf fishing. Withing the first hours we already had all of the fish we could take. I would give it a 6 star but it looks like it's not possible so 5 it is. If you are still thinking about booking with Cap John don't think twice just go for it, him and is mate will make sure you have a good and safe experience.

Our two boat trip was absolutely electric. First off, Capt. Chris' boat was perfect. For the price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a better fishing charter deal out of Charleston. The second boat in our group was equally as nice. Both boats were super comfortable, we just sat in the back on beanbags and drank beer as we raced out about 40 miles offshore. The guides gave us an in depth safety talk before taking off and took every safety precaution available, they definitely found a happy medium between fun and safety though. They were also very well informed about what was in/out of season, and the parameters for keeper fish. On first drop, we had 2 really nice red snapper hookups. Once that bite ran cold, we wasted no time, hopping around to multiple different locations, filling the cooler up with vermillion and other good eating fish. Even got a few 5+ foot sharks for the young'n that was with us. He was so stoked! We ran into a bit of weather but that didn't phase the guides, they had contingency plans to keep us busy. We elected to run deeper to avoid the thunderstorm that formed between us and the land, which meant we got a few extra hours of fishing (no complaints). The highlight of the trip was chumming up a cobia feeding frenzy right on the surface before we booked it back to the marina. Any time you can topwater fish for cobia, you're in for a treat. We almost landed a trophy cobia before a 8+ foot shark breached the surface and completely annihilated it about 20 feet off the back of the boat. It was so primal, none of us cared that we lost the trophy. I recommend these guys to anyone, beginners or lifetime anglers. Will definitely be using them again!

John S. with Chris A. of Charleston, South Carolina
