What types of jetty fishing charters are common?

The most commonly sought after species for jetty fishing are: 1. red snapper, 2. redfish, 3. speckled trout, 4. black drum, and 5. flounder.

The most common fishing techniques are light tackle fishing, live bait fishing, and bottom fishing but cut bait fishing and artificial lure fishing are popular as well.

How much do jetty fishing charters cost?

Prices for jetty fishing can range anywhere from about $600 to $2,100, but the average price for a half day trip for jetty fishing is $1,032. The average price for a full day trip for jetty fishing is $1,624.

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for jetty fishing?

The most popular season for jetty fishing is summer, and most anglers book their trips 23 days in advance.

Do I need a fishing license and what are the bag limits?

See here for more information on fishing licenses, bag limits, and fishing season regulations. When in doubt, your guide will always know all the relevant rules and regulations.

Captain Phil was great! He put us right on the fish early and kept us on them all morning. He was extremely personable and patient as well which went a long way with my two beginner sons. I would highly recommend booking with Captian Phil if you are in the area and looking for guaranteed fish.

Our family had an incredible experience with Captain Pat! My boys had the best time and haven't stopped talking about the trip. The fishing was fantastic, and Captain Pat was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure everyone had a great time on the water. To top it all off, we took our catch back to the dock where it was cooked fresh—and it was absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a fun, memorable fishing trip with an outstanding captain, I can't recommend Captain Pat enough. We'll definitely be back!

Izzy was great. My son was in on leave from the Marine Corps and was staying in Kingwood. He overslept and couldn’t make it down in time for the 6:30am shove off. I explain to Capt Izzy that it would probably be just me and he said, if my son was still wanting to go, then, we could go out in the bay for a bit and swing by to pick him up when he gets down there. That was a class act for him to make that happen, especially how bummed my son was for not being on time and thinking he wasn’t gonna be able to go.if we were in Louisiana, we would of limited out in about 2 hours. He put us on fish, they were just an inch short. We were able to catch some to take home. I would highly recommend using Capt. ilIzzy and will be using him again
