These versatile fish inhabit a variety of environments, including nearshore reefs, wrecks, bridges, and mangrove shorelines, making them accessible to anglers fishing from both shore and boat. Mangrove snapper are known for their cautious feeding behavior, often requiring finesse and patience to entice a bite.

One effective technique for targeting mangrove snapper in New Smyrna Beach is bottom fishing with live or cut bait. Anglers commonly use small live baitfish such as pilchards, pinfish, or grunts, as well as fresh-cut bait such as squid, shrimp, or mullet. Baits are presented near structure-rich areas where mangrove snapper are likely to be hiding, such as around rocks, reefs, pilings, or mangrove roots. We started at 7am and Capt Arron was ready and waiting. He took us right out to a couple of sunken reefs and we started catching fish right away. Hooked a 5.5 foot black tip shark and alot of other fish. I would recomend this charter any day of the week.

We had a lot of fun! Liam was very professional and very patient! Our son gets “uninterested” quickly, but Liam did his best to keep him engaged and fishing! He made sure we caught a variety of fish. We caught puffers, sheepshead, lady fish, red snapper, catfish and a stingray. We couldn’t keep any, as they were too small or not good to eat, but he made sure he put us on them and that we were catching something! He even let our son “drive” the boat! Will definitely schedule again! Thanks Liam!

I got the impression that the mate was newer deckhand. The mate did well but obviously had a few things to learn. Sorry I forgot his name. As for our captain, instead of the captain jumping in and helping the mate, he was too busy fishing himself. They both basically got lost in what they were doing instead of putting the clients first. Overall we had a good experience and reeled up plenty of fish.
