If you're looking for an absolutely epic offshore sportfishing trip, you're in the right place. With 24 hours at your disposal, the world is truly your oyster when you climb aboard Captain Lane's 42' Freeman. This oversized catamaran center console is an offshore angler's dream vessel, combining comfort and space with speed and fishability. Not to mention, with quad 300 Yamahas strapped to the back, Captain Lane can get this puppy cranking up to 65 knots! On these trips, you'll be targeting Tuna out on the Midnight Knob, roughly 170 miles offshore. Although Tuna feeding patterns are hard to predict, you'll try your luck in the early morning hours, when they come to the surface to feed. Most overnight trips will involve some bottom fishing and trolling during the afternoon as you make your way offshore. You can catch billfish and other pelagics, such as Wahoo and Mahi Mahi, on your way out! Once the sun starts to go down, you're welcome to get comfy in a bean bag and snooze if you'd like as Captain Lane will start ripping it offshore. You'll run out deep as the sun sets to get into position for the early morning bite around 3-4 AM. As mentioned, Captain Lane's 42' Freeman is equipped with bean bags for your lounging pleasure on the way offshore, and also comes with all the best rods, reels, electric reels, and tackle you could possibly need for a successful day out on the water. Join us down by the waters in Venice, Louisiana where you can fish at one of the best Tripletail fisheries you can find! If you're looking for some sight casting and a fish that gives you a wild fight, look no further than a Tripletail adventure. Tripletail are pretty crazy looking fish with their prehistoric, dinosaur-like features: razor-sharp gill plates, sharp fins, and you guessed it, 3 tails. There's some debate on their beauty. Some admire them while others are might double-take at the first sight of them. But one thing is undeniable: their wonderful taste. Captain Jacob usually finds these sneaky little guys floating motionless by nearshore structure until a potential prey wanders by and then they strike on their opportunity. Expect them to feed on fish and crabs, including gulf menhaden, Atlantic bumper, glass minnows, swimming red crabs, anchovies, shrimp, and squid. Thus, Captain Jacob will rig up some live bait (occasionally artificials as well) and sight fish these bad boys. Captain Jacob will help you through every step of this process to guarantee that your experience is memorable and successful! With your fully licensed and insured guide, our number one goal is to keep you safe! Be ready to bring drinks, food, sunglasses, sunscreen and a great attitude for a day that you'll remember years down the line. Other than that, Captain Jacob will take care of the rest. Read More

If you're planning on fishing in Southeast Louisiana and are looking for a top-notch fishing charter, come fish with the best! Whether you're just visiting the New Orleans area and looking for an enjoyable family outing, or a dedicated angler hoping to bag a trophy, Captain Mike has got you covered. On the day of your trip, you will be fishing out of Captain Mike's fish out of a 26' Caymas hybrid bay boat powered by a 300 Mercury. This shallow-draft fishing vessel is ideal for inshore angling, and you'll be able to maneuver around the marshes, channels, and flats with ease. Throughout spring, summer, and fall Captain Mike likes to target Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Tripletail, Sheepshead, and Flounder. During certain seasonal months, he also goes after Snapper and Cobia! Starting in early spring he switches his focus to the southern edge of Delacroix, north hitting deeper marshes and channels and targeting Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and Sheepshead. As the waters warm up, he will move further out, chasing the bait from Delacroix to Hopedale to Shell Beach. This allows him and his clients to get on some great Speckled Trout and Redfish bites! As water temperatures rise in the springtime, the action takes him to cleaner waters in search of large schools of Speckled Trout, plus tons of Flounder. Once water temperatures reach a certain level, he likes to go further out to the outer marshes and surrounding areas. This is where he goes to target Bull Reds, Speckled Trout and Tripletail! When you book a trip, you can be confident that Captain Mike will do the utmost to put you on some of the best fishing of your life! Southeast Louisiana isn't called the "Sportman's Paradise" for nothing, and the fishing here is truly legendary. Get out there and have the time of your life with Captain Mike! Read More

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.
