Join Captain Kent on an incredible trip offshore aboard his 37' Buddy Davis Express! After departing from Postcard Inn in Islamorada, FL you'll fish for whatever prized Florida species are available based on what is migrating through the area. Each season holds different opportunities such as Mahi Mahi in the Summer, Sailfish in the Winter and Snapper year-round. But according to Captain Kent, in Islamorada anything is possible! On the full-day trip, you will start your day by leaving as early as possible to get to the bait patch (about 3 or so miles from the dock) hoping to catch bait such as cigar minnows, ballyhoo or Pilchards. Captain Kent will always provide frozen bait aboard just in case. On both the half and full-day trips, you'll head offshore until you find a zone of life (birds, weed lines, debris and such). That’s when you'll start hunting and capitalizing on every opportunity to catch prized big game fish such as Blue Marlin, Cobia, Goliath Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Permit, Sailfish, Skipjack Tuna, Swordfish, Wahoo, White Marlin, and Yellowtail Snapper. You can do all kinds of fishing techniques in these waters, such as deep dropping, hardcore offshore fishing, and Sail Fishing: Deep Dropping: Deep drop fishing offshore in Islamorada is a style of fishing that is usually done with an electric reel or for those who want more of a challenge, it can be done with the hand crank. Typically, you'll be fishing anywhere from 300 to thousands of feet looking to target a variety of bottom feeding fish such as snapper, tilefish, grouper and swordfish. Hardcore Offshore Fishing: This usually entails going offshore looking for pelagic fish like Mahi Mahi or your occasional billfish such as Marlin. You can also spend time trolling (pulling bait/lures behind the boat) or look for birds diving which is an indication of a school of fish like Blackfin Tuna, Bonita or Mahi Mahi. This style of fishing is typically done in the summer time. Sailfish Season: Targeting sailfish is primarily focused on in the winter time when they migrate through the area of Islamorada. There are various ways to catch them; You can bump troll with live baits on the surface, you can fly kites and suspend your baits from the kites, or you can sight fish by looking for showers of bait fish coming out of the water caused by a sailfish balling the bait up and trying to eat one. Whatever fish you want to go after or method you want to try, just let Captain Kent know and he'll get you properly set up and give you some expert pointers! To provide the best experience, the day is subject to change at any given point to ensure the best results for your fishing trip. It was a great fishing trip with Capt Alex and Jason. They knew where to go and showed us the best way.to catch Yellow Tail snapper. We caught over 20 among the three if us. I would use them again and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested Keys fishimg.

Where do I start? I am a Florida native and this was the most AMAZING trip I’ve ever had. From the great time on the boat, excellent gear, the best captain and first mate I’ve been around in 30 years of fishing, and let’s not forget TONS OF FISH!!!! If you are planning a trip here look no further than Capt Joel!!!! AMAZING !!!!!

Captain Alex and his crew were great! We had questionable weather the night before so we were worried about how the morning would go, but they worked hard to get us on the fish even in less than ideal conditions. :) We had a great time!

Captain Brad and Miles were TOP NOTCH! You do not want to miss out on fishing with these gentlemen! We went out for a half day trip and caught a ton of yellowtail snapper and some mutton grouper! We went out deeper but came up short (we had SO many chances) but that was ok! The boat was crazy fast and very high tech, these guys know where the fish are!!! Unforgettable and very enjoyable experience! Thank you Captain Brad and Miles- you guys gave us an experience we will be talking about forever, and not to mention the most delicious fish we have ever cooked in our lives- and that is saying a lot coming from Massachusetts!!!! We will definitely be coming back next year to fish with you guys again!!!❤️

Captain Joel was awesome. Super chill and laid back. He took us out with the kids and taught them how to deep sea fish too. When we come back to Marathon we will definitely be booking with him again!! Such a good time!!

We had a blast with Captain Brad and his crew Miles and Whitney! The boat had a toilet, lots of comfortable and covered seating for those that were not fishing. They were great with instructions and techniques on how to land the catch! They knew all the hot spots and we had enough fish to feed an army dinner!

Our group had 5 people with little to no fishing experience. Brad took us to fish for yellowtale first, about 35 minutes away from the dock. He and his hand Miles showed us how to use the rods properly and we caught about 10 or 12 yellowtales. They were both very friendly and helpful, we all felt comfortable and had a good time. Unfortunately some of us got sea sick so we decided to cut the trip short. Brad had cautioned us about that beforehand and offered to move our trip to a day with calmer weather, what we would have done would we have had the time. We would definitely go with Brad again. He is a friendly local guy and he made the trip fun and personal, not at all commercial like some of the bigger boats. He knows the area and waters very well.
