While jigging the reefs you can expect to hook into the likes of Cobia, Amberjack, and all kinds of Grouper and Snapper. Bottom fishing the wreck sites and deeper water structures are going to be more geared toward tasty Snapper and Grouper species! You are welcome to get as involved as you would like with your adventure as well, whether you'd rather lounge until the reel starts screaming or if you want your hand on the rod moving the jig around the whole time, Captain Chris can make it happen! After you've booked the date all you'll need to do is meet up with Captain Chris at the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp with your favorite snacks and drinks, Captain Chris will provide everything else you could possibly need to get you started on the right foot. Captain Phil offers backwater fishing adventures for the entire family and for serious anglers. Backwater fishing excursions can be day or night trips, fishing from Naples Bay to 10,000 Islands to Everglades National Park, for tarpon, snook, trout, pompano, tripletail, sharks, and more. You'll be headed out aboard Captain Phil's 24′ Avenger bay boat, which comfortably seats up to 6 people, with a t-top to shade you from the incessant South Florida Sun. Children and Pets are always welcome! Captain Phil will provide all the fishing gear (rods, reels, tackle, bait), fishing licenses, water, ice. Anything else you’d like to eat or drink you should bring along with you. Though there is usually ample room in our onboard coolers, you may bring a small cooler for your provisions if you’d prefer. You can also bring your own fishing gear if you'd like. Come aboard Captain Jon’s custom-built Mako 21' LTS hybrid flats/bay boat for a great day of fishing and exploring the waters of southwest Florida. The hull design allows for both skinny water fishing and a comfortable ride to the nearshore reefs if the weather delivers a slight chop. She’s powered by a Mercury 200 horsepower Mercury four-stroke engine providing plenty of power and reliability. Twin 12-foot MinnKota Talons aka ‘shallow water anchoring system’ which allows Captain Jon to anchor the boat without using an anchor, while the Minn Kota Ulterra Trolling motor will quietly sneak up on skittish redfish or move along mangrove shorelines in search of snook and other game fish.
