The waters around Port St. Joe & Cape San Blas are some of the most fertile and finest fishing grounds on the Gulf, and are home to a variety of hard-fighting and delicious reef and pelagic species. These trips will usually target Snapper species, Cobia King Mackerel and grouper. Red Snapper season generally runs June 1st - July 31st. These dates are not set in stone and can vary from year to year, but Captain Taft's boat is Federally Permitted which allows him to not only venture offshore beyond the state water mark (+9mi from shore) but also to catch fish at certain times when the recreational season is closed.
