We started Captain Experiences to make it easy to book fishing and hunting guides around the world. With over 1,600 Damn Good Guides, our platform makes finding and booking a trip seamless. Head here to check out our trips.
While our Captain Experiences monthly newsletter usually includes giveaways, discounts, fishing reports, and Verified Reviews, we're taking the time to focus on two of our Damn Good Guides that could use your help. Please see below for opportunities to support Captain Michael and Captain Tommy, two of our close friends and close-to-home guides:
Captain Michael LaRue of Galveston was diagnosed with COVID-19 on his 53rd birthday, 8/16/20. Two days later, he was rushed to surgery for blood clots in both legs and was placed on a ventilator. He was considered unstable on 8/21 and remains in a medically induced coma under full life support.
Doctors are giving Capt. Michael's wife Pam hope that he will still pull through, but it will be a long and difficult road to recovery.
Michael and Pam are both self employed, which adds financial stress to the situation. All donations will aid in the support of their uncertain future and medical expenses, and the funds from this fundraiser will be sent directly to Michael and Pam LaRue.
Captain Experiences donated $500 to the Captain Michael LaRue COVID-19 Relief Fund, and we hope to help spread the word to anyone looking to support the LaRues as well. Anything helps and we thank you in advance for your consideration.
Captain Experiences is committed to providing safe and responsible fishing trips throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. To learn more, please review our Response to COVID-19.
Captain Tommy Adams Rebuilds following Hurricane Laura:
Captain Tommy was in the full swing of things this summer at his home and fishing lodge in Hackberry, Louisiana. As recently as late August, families and friends were catching Redfish, Speckled Trout, and more with Capt. Tommy up and down Calcasieu Lake just south of Lake Charles.
All of that changed when Capt. Tommy returned following Hurricane Laura to find his home, in the direct path of the eye of the storm, crushed.
We've started a GoFundMe to help Capt. Tommy recover from this devastating natural disaster and have donated $500. We hope to raise at least $1,000 for Capt. Tommy and would really appreciate your help!
We'll be posting more on Captain Michael and Captain Tommy on our Captain Experiences Facebook page, so please be sure to follow for updates and to spread the word.
Thanks,
