trip description for PCB Half Day Inshore in Panama City Beach

Welcome to Panama City Beach! PCB is home to an incredible inshore fishery, and on this trip with Captain Bryan, you'll have access to all of it, from backcountry flats to deeper channels and more. You'll be casting out for bites from species including Bluefish, Mangrove Snapper, Black Drum, Redfish, and Speckled Trout! These species are all famous game fish for good reason: they pack a punch when fighting, and are a blast to catch. Anglers of all experience levels will have fun fighting Redfish, which are known for their strong runs, and Bluefish, which are especially tough inshore opponents. Your trip will begin when you step off the dock and onto Captain Bryan's 22’ Cape Horn center console. She can take up to four anglers, and she's powered by a 200-HP Suzuki engine for a fast ride. For navigation, the boat uses quality GPS, plus a fishfinder to help you locate the big ones. Finally, she's equipped with a livewell for keeping your bait fresh! Captain Bryan will provide everything you need for an awesome day, including all the rods, reels, bait, and tackle. All you need to bring is sunscreen, sunglasses, and some snacks and you'll be good to go! Read More

"Surf fishing off of Panama City Beach is what Max has done most of his 34 years of life. He takes pride in it and this shows by the fish he‘s been able to produce over the years. He provides his customers with top notch gear, the best tackle, an iced down fish cooler with bottled water, beach chairs & everything else needed for a successful day of fishing. For bait, we will be using live sand fleas, fresh cut mullet and shrimp. We will set out four surf rods and have a spinning rod on standby to site fish big fish that swim bye. I will personally clean your fish right there on the beach and have gallon Ziploc bags to put the fillets in. Surf fishing is fun for all ages so bring the kiddos with you. Read More

What types of bluefish fishing charters are common in Florida?

Inshore fishing is the most popular type of fishing for bluefish in Florida as well as flats fishing, nearshore fishing, and jetty fishing.

The most common fishing techniques in Florida are light tackle fishing, live bait fishing, and artificial lure fishing but bottom fishing and trolling are popular as well.

How much do Florida bluefish fishing charters cost?

Prices for bluefish in Florida can range anywhere from about $400 to $1,050, but the average price for a half day trip for bluefish in Florida is $604. The average price for a full day trip for bluefish in Florida is $930.

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for bluefish fishing in Florida?

The most popular season for bluefish fishing in Florida is summer, and most anglers book their trips 9 days in advance.

Do I need a Florida fishing license for bluefish and what are the bag limits for bluefish in Florida?

See here for more information on fishing licenses in Florida, bag limits for target species, and fishing season regulations in Florida. When in doubt, your fishing guide will always know the right rules and regulations in Florida.

We were looking for a different kind of fishing trip and found it - we loved the surf fishing experience with Capt Max! He is a professional in every sense - he reached out to ensure we knew what to expect and where to meet. The beach location was easy to find & park and he had chairs & water waiting for us. Capt Max is very personable - loved hearing his story! The surf was very rough so we didn’t have high expectations, but Capt Max worked hard to find fish! We caught three nice pompano which he cleaned for us on the beach (they were delicious by the way!). Plus, we were treated to a beautiful sunset! What’s not to love?! No early morning, no bouncing around on a boat, spending time on the beach, great sunset, and a tasty dinner - perfect start to a beach vacay! Can’t wait to do it again and a big thank you to Capt Max!

Captain Justin was great!!! He put us on the fish all day. Wide open fishing, we caught 5 different types of fish. Captain Justin did a great job taking photos, sharing information and showing us some wildlife. There were lots of alligators.

Five stars warranted. Skilled and personable captain with nice boat and gear, plus the requisite “local knowledge.” Did a half day with trip tailored by the captain to match our specific inshore interests and to maximize fishing time. Had continuous action, and it was fun to see my daughter catch a nice mixed bag of fish species she hadn’t seen. Highly recommend Captain Matt.

Randy S. with Matt B. of New Smyrna Beach, Florida

We had the best experience with Andrew. He’s a born and raised in Key Largo local and he put us on a bunch of spots where fish were biting. He was so patient when we got tangled or lost our bait and was just in general super friendly and helpful. You can tell he spends his days on the water because there’s no place he’d rather be. And he also cleaned our fish with an amazing alacrity and gave us excellent recommendations on where we could have it cooked for us by highly acclaimed local chefs. It wasn’t just fishing, Andrew was the whole package.

We were set up to go out with Joey, but there was a last minute change to Captain Taylor. He was a very knowledgeable and patient guide and was great with the kids. Weather was cool and cloudy to start, but he eventually put us on some fish and was a great family experience. It was a catch and release trip which was slightly disappointing but hey, still had a blast. Would definitely book again, hope to return for an offshore experience soon!! Thank you Captain Taylor!!!

Matthew L. with Joey S. of Fort Walton Beach, Florida

What an awesome fishing guide! Omg. We caught so many fish. Cool boat, excellent ability to find the fish, great tips on local ways to get cooked for our dinner. Just had a ball!

We loved our trip with Captain Neal! Him and his family have so much interesting history with the town and river. You can tell he’s a very experienced fisherman through his knowledge of the best fishing spots and the species. He’s friendly and has a great sense of humor. We caught a lot of black drum and red drum along with snook and spotted trout. It was a great time even in the off season. Highly suggest Neal for your quick morning trip!
