trip description for Jacksonville Reds on the Fly in Jacksonville

Captain Charlie is a true angler's angler, a purist flyfisherman and light tackle specialist who has devoted his life to mastering the art of spotting, stalking, and catching gamefish in shallow water. He lives for great hooksets, hard fights on light gear, and seeing the expressions on his clients' faces when they catch their personal best Redfish or Snook on a flyrod. Make no mistake—a trip with Captain Charlie is not for every angler. As he says, "If you plan on filling up your cooler with fish, I am not the guide for you. If you want to anchor up, crack open a beverage and soak baits on the bottom, I am also not the guide for you. I will be happy to refer you to other guides who specialize in these types of fishing." However, if you're intent on catching amazing fish on the fly or on light tackle, and are willing to stand on the bow and make it happen, then there's no better guide. Get out there on the skinny water and strap in for the trip of a lifetime! This trip is strictly catch-and-release; Charlie does everything he can to respect the resource, and fish will be treated with care. However, you won't leave empty-handed—he's an expert in "CPR" or "catch, picture, release" fishing and you'll head home with some amazing images capturing your success. Read More

Captain Don is truly a 5 star fishing guide. He's a better guy. I've been fishing for over 50 years, and as I hoped, Captain Don showed me several ticks and trips I'd never seen. No matter your experience level, he has something to help. We had a great day on the water, and had a great conversation. Darn fish just kept bugging us though.

We had a great time with captain frank. Due to the storms that rolled in weeks prior to our trip and a nor' easter, we had to make due with the areas we had available to fish. The booking process was very easy and we enjoyed our time on the water.

We had an unbelievable time with Captain James and I can't wait to fish with him again. Was in the area for a wedding and was looking to head offshore so we booked with James. He kept in touch leading up to our trip and let us know the kings were running. We headed out through the St. Mary's jetties and set up on the troll after catching some baitfish on the buoys. There were a couple other boats out and no one seemed to get a bite, the kings just weren't biting. From there, Capt. James took us to one of his snapper spots and we reeled em in on every drop. Everyone caught fish and James was super patient helping one buddy who was offshore for the first time. James was a blast to fish with and was super knowledgeable about the area and its history. His center console split the chop like butter. Will be back! - Jonathan with Captain Experiences

Our 6-hour in-shore fishing trip with Captain Billy was such a great time! He's definitely done his fair share of charters and we were lucky enough to catch quite a few fish. He followed all sizing restrictions and made sure we were on fish at every spot we went to. After, he showed us the proper way to clean fish. We will most definitely do another charter with him in the future.
