On this 4 to 8-hour action-packed adventure in one of the top Tarpon fishing spots in the world, Captain Angel will help you target these "Silver Kings" and maybe even some Snook, Jack Crevalle, or Spanish Mackerel. On this trip, you'll be fishing right at the home of these "inshore giants" in the heart of the Torrecilla lagoon. This is one of the 6 lagoons around San Juan interconnected by mangrove canals, which are collectively a top 5 Tarpon fishing location Worldwide. Listen closely to Captain Angel’s advice - he knows where the fish bite! Tarpon are acrobats of the ocean and put on a spectacular show in the air! Whether you’re using rod and reel or fly fishing, these sometimes 100 plus pound fish love to fight hard. Tides, weather, and moon phases play an essential factor in a Tarpon’s behavior, but these kings are always hungry, biting on both live and artificial bait. Bring your camera because catching a tarpon is a stunning experience that you will want to capture. These fascinating sport fish are catch and release. It only takes one battle with these prehistoric creatures to become completely mesmerized, and you’ll be longing to catch more. trip description for Puerto Rico Tarpon Excursion in Carolina

Get out there on the Torrecilla and San José Lagoons, two of the most exciting inland fisheries in San Juan, Puerto Rico! Your trip will be run by one of five captains—Armando, Randy, Karim, Carlos, or Pantoja—all business partners and experts in inshore and nearshore fishing with several decades of combined experience. This Puerto Rico charter fishing experience includes not only world-class Tarpon and Snook fishing, but also incomparable scenery and wildlife. The location of these beautiful lagoons guarantees the calm waters, which means no seasickness! For our hardcore fishing enthusiasts, the best part of Tarpon fishing in Puerto Rico is that it's a year-round activity! The waters around San Juan are known for having a large concentration of Tarpon, but they also produce big Snook, Jacks, Lady Fish, Barracuda, and Snapper. San Juan Tarpon love the rain and cloudy days. Usually, fishing here is best when its cloudy or pouring rain! So unless a hurricane is making landfall, you can expect to go out and chase these "Silver Kings" no matter the weather. You'll use Threadfin Herring, Anchovies and Sand Perch for bait—all of which these fish love to hit! For those customers that prefer artificial lures, he has an excellent set of lures as well. In addition, if you want to fly-fish, this trip is perfectly geared for it! Just let your captain know so that he can bring fly rods and flies. You'll be fishing from the deck of an 22' Triton bay boat, powered by a 150-HP, four-stroke Yamaha engine. She's kitted out with a Garmin fishfinder, live well, storage area, and a great casting deck for light tackle fishing or fly fishing. Your captain will provide everything you need for an awesome trip, including rods, reels, live bait, and tackle. Just bring proper clothing, a hat, and a pair of polarized sunglasses and you'll be good to go! Read More

Our guide and captain were great in Puerto Rico, which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. I do not want our confusing/stressful experience to reflect poorly on the people we actually worked with. Our issues were with the parent company “Captain Experiences.” They were not knowledgeable on fishing license needs; I only asked about fishing licenses to verify what I read on their website because it was a bit contradictory. I was provided the wrong answer by someone at Captain Experiences, and was only given the correct info after I screenshot their website and emailed it to them. Also, the directions to the pick up location were not clear. Any other fishing tour we have gone on, the captain makes contact prior to the trip to make sure everything is taken care of. We were given the name of the Puerto Rican company’s owner not the captain and guide. Needless to say, my husband and children were very stressed before we located Franco and Petine (who were great and knew nothing about our issues). Located them at 7:26, with trip starting at 7:30. My son caught a good sized white marlin and my daughter had a fish get off the hook. Again, Franco and Petine were great. The issue is communication and clarity prior to the trip.

Rafa is the man. He was on time, prepared, informative and knew how to attack tarpon. It was a slow day for the catching side of things but Rafa managed to get us on fish. My wife and I both landed a couple 4 to 5 lb fish and we hooked a bigger fish (12 to 15lb) that gave us a jumping show but came unhooked at the boat. We got to meet Bob the pelican as an added treat. A great day and I can confidently refer Rafa as a good man to fish with

great event...we caught a variety of species and we even booked Luis for the next day...Luis was simply the BEST! He stayed with us until after dark to make sure we landed our big tarpon...and he did everything he could to make sure we got what we are after...i will always seek Luis and his crew out when i am in PR.

Captain Carlos did a great job and moved several times to try finding us some fish. Unfortunately, it was a hot day and we didn’t have any luck, but we’ll definitely be booking through Captain again!

Captain Angel and his crew mate were fantastic they worked very hard to put us on fish but it didn’t work out. One high point was when we returned to the marina Captan Angel spotted some Tarpon so he baited a rod and tossed it in and then let my 7 year old Grandson reel it in. He was really excited to fight that tarpon and talked about it all night. Thank you Captain Angel for your kindness.

A great day on the water with a view of Old San Juan in the back ground. Boat was fully out fitted and the Captain and mate work like a well oiled machine. Great gear, fully stocked cooler, and and fish on. What more can you say?
