50+ Guides: Our proudest accomplishment to date is our traction with our #damngoodguides. We’ve spoken with each of our guides individually to understand their personalities, specialties, and trip listings. Doing so deepens our relationships with our guides and charters, grants us specific knowledge of each trip, and exposes us to invaluable feedback.   MassChallenge Texas: Captain was recently accepted into the MassChallenge Texas in Houston program as one of the youngest businesses in the 26-company cohort.  Redfish on the Fly

Trip Description:

At Fly Fish Rockport, Captain Jeff Johnson and his team offer memorable trips for beginners and experts alike. Pick up your first fly rod and your first Redfish on a half-day trip under Capt. Jeff’s patient and effective coaching. For experienced fly anglers, learn new casting techniques or simply stalk Reds like a pro with Fly Fish Rockport!   In and around Rockport, fly fishing typically consists of sight fishing shallow water areas, or flats. These range from sand flats to mud flats, grass flats or flats composed of crushed oyster shells. Most sight fishing is done in less than two feet of crystal clear water, making the fish visible to the trained eye.   Rockport offers some of the best saltwater fly fishing on the entire Texas Coast. The city is surrounded by the transparent waters of Copano Bay, Redfish Bay, Aransas Bay and nearby San Antonio and Matagorda Bays. There are excellent year-round populations of Redfish, Speckled Trout and Black Drum, and occasional opportunities for other species such as Jack Crevalle and Tarpon.
