Embark on a fly fishing adventure with Captain Justin through Galveston’s huge expanse of sand, grass, and mudflats that provide plenty of opportunities to sight fish for tailing Reds! Captain Justin specifically targets Redfish but that doesn't mean you won't throw a fly at a cruising Black Drum or Sheepshead you see along the way. Captain Justin offers half-day and full-day trips depending on how much time you want to spend out on the water. His skiff is a fantastic vessel for exploring the shallow waters, and can comfortably host you and one other person. You must have a Texas Parks and Wildlife Fishing License with a Saltwater Stamp. Captain Justin encourages you to bring your own gear if you have it, but will also provide an 8, 9, and 10 weight rod for you as well. Captain Justin also brings a light tackle spinning rod along as well—just in case. He will also provide all the flies, terminal tackle, ice, and water to ensure a successful trip. Hop on board with Captain Michael to fish the jetties of Galveston Bay! The Jetties are home to a variety of fish species, including red and black drum, flounder, speckled trout, king mackerel, and tripletail, giving you the unique experience of catching offshore fish inshore. You can choose to be out on the water for 4 hours (a half-day) or 6 hours (a full day) depending on how much fishing you want to do. These trips host up to six people. During a Full Day trip, we'll travel along the Bayou and target Alligator Gar. Our 16ft Jon boat will have all the gear necessary for catching fish. All you need to bring is your drink of choice and comfortable clothes for the day. Please keep in mind that you will likely get dirty while fishing. During the summer months, temperatures can reach above 100 F degrees so be prepared with clothes that are appropriate. I will have a cooler on board with waters and ice for everyone where you can store your drinks and lunch. Alligator Gar are notoriously tough to catch but we will guide you through the entire process regardless of your experience level. Kids are also welcome on board. In fact, our favorite guests are fathers who are looking to create memories with their children in the outdoors. We use a variety of baits caught from the same water including Common and Grass Carp, Mullet, Shad and Buffalo. During the really hot days, we'll use live mullet that we'll catch during our trip. On this trip, you'll choose between an 8-hour or 12-hour deep sea excursion between 40 and 80 miles off the shore of Galveston. On the 8-hour trip, we'll head about 40 miles offshore targeting red snapper, kingfish, mangrove snappers, triggerfish, Spanish mackerel, and mahi mahi. On the 12-hour trip, we will be between 70 to 80 miles offshore (blue water) red snapper, kingfish, wahoo, tuna, mahi mahi grouper, amberjack, and always a possibility of a sailfish.
