If you’re looking for an experienced guide with a successful track record on the water, you’re in the right place. Captain Bryce has been fishing these Coastal Bend waters for quite some time now and knows exactly where the fish bite! Captain Bryce doesn't want you staring at your watch while your out there, he wants you to be watching your fishing pole! This trip is listed at 8 hours b/c Captain Bryce doesn't like to put a time limit on fishing. Fish as long or as little as you'd like when you're out there with Captain Bryce. He just wants you to catch fish and have a great time! On your trip, you’ll be targeting Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, Redfish, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout / Spotted Seatrout as you fish aboard Captain Bryce's 22-foot Coastal Custom bay boat. This boat is equipped with one 300HP Suzuki engine as well as a GPS, live bait well, and fishfinder. When Captain Bryce is launching out of Rockport you will meet up with him at the Copano Bay Bridge Pier which is right off Highway 35 and easy to access. Don’t forget to bring a valid Texas fishing license, which you can purchase online, food and drinks for the day, sunscreen, and a hat. Captain Bryce will provide all rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait is included in the cost of the trip. Read More

trip description for Rockport Tx Wade Fishing in Rockport

This will be a full day of wade fishing the Rockport Tx bay systems. We will use a variety of different Artifical lures from soft plastics to top waters primarily targeting trophy trout and redfish. I will provide all the tackle as far as lures go. But you are more than welcome and encouraged to bring your favorite and most confident baits. You will be required to bring all your own gear consisting of waders and boots, wading belts with pliers and stringers and last but not least your own rods. I do recommend each customer bring 2 rods incase one accidentally breaks or has a malfunction. I can provide beginners rods and reels for an additional cost of $50 per rod. One more thing that I hope won’t be a deal breaker but since the major freeze a few years ago I along with a lot of the Texas guides do “Not” allow clients to keep any trout. Our trout fishery especially here in the rockport area took a major hit during the freeze. With that being said, It is coming back and there is plenty of trout action to have but if we want it to have a chance to get back to the way it was and hopefully even better and long lasting we have to continue to let them go and grow. Like I said I really hope that isn’t a deal breaker. Read More

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

We booked a flounder trip for 4 with Captain Pat, we met at the boat ramp on time and the evening started, it was a little slow at first due to a low tide and muddy waters but Captain Pat worked his tail off hitting numerous locations and after a couple hours we had our limits! Captain Pat did a great job and we will definitely book him again!

We had a great time with Captain Pat. Water visibility was low, but he still found a way to get us on a cooler full of flounder. My 16 & 12-yr old sons got their fair share too and are looking forward to our next trip.

We had a trip booked with Captain Bryce the weekend after the tropical storm hit the coast, and as most know, storms can make it hard to catch fish. He was amazing and worked really hard to get us onto both trout and reds. We were able to catch a few because of his hard work even with the aftermath of the storm. Thank you for a great time!!
