Redfish frequent the harbor's shallow flats and around structure such as oyster beds and dock pilings, where they feed on crabs, shrimp, and small fish. Anglers often use live bait like shrimp or mullet, as well as artificial lures such as spoons and soft plastics, to entice redfish into biting throughout the year.

Spring and fall are typically productive seasons for speckled trout in Charleston Harbor, aligning with their spawning and feeding patterns in the bay's warmer waters.

Flounder are also abundant in Charleston Harbor's flats, prized for their delicate flavor and unique flat shape. These bottom-dwelling fish can be found near sandy bottoms, shell beds, and around structure such as bridges and docks where they lie in wait for passing prey. Anglers target flounder using live bait such as mud minnows or shrimp, as well as jigging with artificial lures designed to mimic small fish or shrimp movements. Simply could not have had a more fun and enjoyable morning on the water than we did with Captain Carlo!!! He knew the right spots, and over 4 hours our party of 5 caught more than 30 fish representative of almost 10 different species, including an couple of really fun bonnett head shark fights (we caught 4 sharks without trying to catch sharks). A great introduction to fishing for my first-timer son (7 years old) and a great time for his cousins (age 13 and 17) and me and my brother-in-law. I can't recommend Capt. Carlo strongly enough. I'll definitely be booking with him next time we are back in Charleston. Thanks to Captain Experiences for making the whole process so simple and effective. A+++++++

Captain Carlo was awesome! He took our family of four out for my kids’ first time fishing and we had a fantastic time! He was patient with our two young kids (6 & 4), did a great job teaching all of us, and showing us the sights around the Charleston harbor. Would not hesitate for a second go book with him again!
