Located where Buffalo Bayou and San Jacinto River feed into the Galveston Bay Complex, Baytown is an ideal spot for inshore species to flourish. This provides an awesome jumping-off point for bay fishing. Having plenty of bays and backwaters means there are limitless places to target inshore species including redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and sheepshead. With excellent fishing upriver from Baytown and down into the rest of the Galveston Bay Area, you can catch fish almost anywhere. With numerous nearby bays, plentiful fish, and multiple ways to hit the water you are sure to have a fishing experience like no other.

Fishing the Bay Complex Around Baytown

With nearby bays like Galveston Bay, Trinity Bay, and Burnet Bay finding fish will not be a problem. The bite kicks off every year with speckled trout in the spring while flounder come on strong from summer into fall. Bull redfish take things up a notch during their migration in the fall and provide your best shot at landing a giant. When things cool off going into winter sheepshead stack up near structure and can provide all the action you can handle.

The captain was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable. The boat was well-equipped, and safety was clearly a top priority. We were taken to some fantastic spots where the fish were biting almost instantly. The Captain even handled all the cleaning of our catch so we could just relax and enjoy the day. On top of the fishing, the scenery was stunning—calm waters, clear skies, and even a few dolphin sightings along the way. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Captain Troy's nursing background really helped ease any motion sickness worries and calm first-time nerves, my son is 7 and he had a blast!     Took my 5-year-old son, my nephew, and his dad out with Capt. Troy, and let me just say—it was a blast from start to finish! Rods were bending left and right as we reeled in sand bass, black drum, a couple of sting rays, and some croaker. The kids were grinning ear to ear the whole time! Capt. Troy was patient, fun, and made sure everyone—especially the little ones—had a great experience. Nothing better than watching your kid hook into a fish and yell, “I got one!” over and over again. It was good times, great memories, and an all-around awesome day on the water. Highly recommend booking a trip with him if you’re looking for a fun family adventure!
