trip description for Night Monster Fishing Trip-Cubera/Goliath Grouper/Shark in Miami

This trip is fishing for monsters. The targeted species are Cubera Snapper, Goliath Grouper and Sharks. This is the ultimate big game trip next to Sword fishing which I offer as a day trip. This trip is about focussing on catching huge fish hanging around ship wrecks. The bait consists of whole fish with the average bait weighing around 5 pounds. The gear used are big game set ups, butt rods, 50 or 80 Penn International 2 speeds spooled with 100 lb braided line, followed by 600 lb test leader to 400 lb wire leader, ending with two giant 18/0 hooks. The trip is aboard, Posiedon, my new 36’ Yellowfin center console. This boat is the ultimate in offshore, big game boats. Powered with triple 275 hp Mercury Verados, it is very fast and handles like a Lamborgini. Yellowfin is hands down the sexiest center console ever made and they haven’t changed the hull design in over a decade. The sexy hull design pushes water away from the boat making it very dry as water rarely ever comes over the rail. The hull design also provides a stable base for handling the roughest Seas. The tricked out lighting includes 6 blue underwater lights making it epic for night fishing. The brand new computer systems consists of 2 completely independent systems. The first is a 12” Garmin chart plotter with radar, GPS and a fish finder that will tell you what type of fish it is at 2000’ deep! The second system is a 12” Raymarine chart plotter with 4’ open array radar, GPS, adaptive autopilot and fish finder with side scan sonar. The Fusion BT sound system will keep the tunes and good times going. There is a head on the boat for girls and emergencies. Captain BrYan has thousands of marked fishing spots on the computers and is offshore at night about 3-5 times a week. His extensive knowledge of the Ocean, Haulover Inlet and the Intercostal Water Ways will keep you safe in any situation. The Miami Beach skyline is epic at night from a boat. There aren’t too many places in the World where you can deep Sea fish a couple miles from shore and see such a beautiful city scene. Fishing for monsters, offshore, at night in the open Ocean while enjoying the beautiful view of Miami is something all fisher persons must experience. Captain BrYan has everything you need, just bring your food and drinks, beer and glass bottles are perfectly fine too! There will be bottled waters in a cooler with ice for you on the boat. Usually Sharks are catch and release with the average fish weighing over 300 lbs. If you want to harvest a Shark that is legal, then please let Captain BrYan know prior to the day of the trip. Shark cleaning fees start at $50 and go up depending on size. Goliath Grouper is catch and release only, unless you have won a tag from FWC in the annual drawing. If you have one of these tags, please let Captain BrYan know when you book the trip. Cubera Snapper are delicious and can be harvested. Complimentary cleaning for Cuberas under 20lbs, fish over 20 lbs are $25 each to be cleaned. Vacuum packing service is provided for an additional fee to be determined depending on size of catch. This trip is for everyone, especially children and beginners! Read More

START TIME DISCLAIMER: 4hr trip start at 8am and 12pm. 6hr trips start at 8am and 1pm. 8hr trips start at 8am only! The all-day trip is my favorite trip, it gives us a lot of time to try a bunch of different tactics to make the day as productive as possible. We can run offshore and look for birds and debris chasing mahi mahi, troll on the edge of the reef for wahoo sailfish and tuna, drop on wrecks for snappers and groupers. I usually will talk to the customers and put a game plan together to make there fishing experience as memorable as possible. In the 3/4 day trip, it allows us to do more than the half day trip. That includes trolling, live bait, kite fishing, bottom fishing, deep dropping, or shark fishing. Our fishery in south Florida changes throughout the year so we can run offshore for mahi or bottom fish for snappers or groupers. We usually like to talk to the customers about what they would like to target and what is in season and make a game plan from that. We like to fish hard and have fun doing it! In our half day trips depending on time of year or target species. We will troll, live bait, bottom fish, shark fish, or Kite fish. We will usually stay within 2 miles of the beach where most of the bait fish and bottom fish are. But we usually like to target whatever fish that are biting that time of year or whatever the customer would like to catch. Read More

Sportfishing here in Miami Beach is a unique experience unlike any other. Captain Ethan and his crew know the area and know how to make your trip enjoyable and memorable. His sportfishing charters offer plenty of opportunities to catch and keep your fish, if you so desire! Ethan and his crew can even clean your catch and suggest nearby restaurants that will cook it up for you. Charters launch from the Miami Beach Marina and traverse the area between Ft. Lauderdale and Key Largo. However, if the fishing report states a much wider range, Captain Ethan will go as far as 30 miles offshore. His goal is to give you the best sportfishing experience possible—each and every trip. Some of the fish regularly caught on these trips include Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Kingfish, Tuna, Sharks, Blackfin Tuna, and Wahoo. However, an unexpected blue or white Marlin may show its face in the spread, when an experienced angler knows you never know what to expect. While a few fish are catch and release only, you can keep much of what you catch—depending on size. Our crew will keep you up to date with the current information. A day of sport fishing is something you will never forget! All equipment is provided, but you are welcome to use your own if you prefer. Anglers often use techniques such as bottom fishing with live bait or artificial lures to entice strikes from these wary predators, making for exciting angling adventures on the open sea.

Another sought-after species in Fort Lauderdale's waters is the sailfish, renowned for its impressive speed, agility, and acrobatic leaps. Fort Lauderdale's strategic location along the Gulf Stream and its abundance of baitfish-rich waters make it an ideal habitat for sailfish, particularly during the winter months when these majestic predators migrate south along the coast. Anglers targeting sailfish often employ a variety of techniques, including trolling with rigged baits or artificial lures, live baiting with small fish or squid, and kite fishing to present baits at the surface where sailfish are known to feed. Hooking into a sailfish provides anglers with an exhilarating experience as these powerful fish put their speed and agility on full display.

For those seeking inshore angling adventures, Fort Lauderdale offers opportunities to target species such as snook, tarpon, and redfish in its intricate network of canals, mangrove-lined shorelines, and tidal flats. These prized inshore species provide exciting action on light tackle, with opportunities for sight fishing, lure casting, and live bait presentations. Whether venturing offshore in pursuit of pelagic giants or exploring the inshore waters for trophy catches, Fort Lauderdale offers a wealth of angling opportunities for enthusiasts of all levels, ensuring memorable experiences on the water.

Jedidiah was unavailable to take us out fishing, but his friend Matt was able fill in. Matt was excellent company, very knowledgeable about fishing, and the various species within these waters. We had a wonderful time and if Matt is a representation of the people Jedidiah keeps for company, then I have no doubt he would be as equally wonderful to go fishing with, 10/10.

Taylor was amazing! He knew exactly what he was doing; the spots to go to, which bait to use to catch certain fish, and how to set up each individual line. He also knew when each line would be hooked or something was biting, even when we couldn’t see it. We ended up with one big catch that broke the line as we spent what felt like hours fighting it. Even though we didn’t end up feeling anything in, it was still a great experience out on the water, talking about a range of topics with Taylor. We would definitely come back and book with Taylor and Wicked Cuda again!

I would 100% recommend a trip with Jedidiah. No doubt he knows the waters and how to get on the fish, but was also very good with our two younger anglers who had a memorable, successful and exciting experience. King Mackerel were biting and they were just a couple minutes off shore. Thanks Jedidiah and hope to book another one with you in the future!

Absolutely amazing crew and fishing! Traveled with our four kids and decided to take a fishing trip before we went on left for a cruise out of Miami. Communication prior to trip was great and boat had plenty of space including bathroom, cooler with ice/drinks and inside area for younger children that were hot/sleepy. We caught tons of fish! Definitely would recommend this boat and crew to anyone looking for a solid boating/fishing experience!

Hi, the overall trip was good, captain explained a lot. We were expecting another person on board to help with baiting, but the captain did it all. He greeted us at his home went to the boat and took off. The bathroom on the boat definitely needs a deep cleaning. I think the boat was too small boat for as many people we had on board to be fishing. We were always in his way or another person's way it seemed. Wish we could have caught something other than fish bait.
