trip description for Epic Inshore Fishing Charters in Edgewater

Captain Drew is a full time Mosquito Lagoon flats fishing guide offering light tackle charters near Orlando. I also offer nearshore light tackle reef-wreck charters, tarpon, snook and cobia fishing charters along with sight fishing the flats on the Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River, Port Canaveral, Ponce Inlet and Sebastian Inlet. I do both saltwater spin fishing and saltwater fly fishing for redfish, tarpon, cobia, snapper, big jacks, shark, triple tail, snook, seatrout and black drum. Snook, seatrout, bull redfish, drum, sheephead, pompano, triple tail, jacks, shark, cobia and flounder are year round! Peak tarpon season is from May thru November and the tarpon range from 10 pounds to over well 150 pounds. This is the closest light tackle saltwater flats fishing charter and nearshore beach fishing trips located east of Orlando, Kissimmee & Disney. I also offer dolphin and manatee sight seeing tours. I would like to invite you to fish the Mosquito Lagoon and north Indian River located in the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore. Premier nearshore fishing and inshore saltwater flats fishing near Orlando, Kissimmee & Disney. We will either meet in Cocoa Beach near Port Canaveral or New Smyrna Beach near Ponce Inlet right off I-95 just east of Orlando. This is the number one place in central Florida to catch trophy redfish, seatrout, snook, triple tail, king fish, snappers, shark black drum year round and seasonal tarpon, cobia in central Florida. Great weather means, it is tarpon time. Reef wreck deep sea fishing has been epic! All of my inshore and nearshore guided fishing tours are done out of a new 2022 21 foot Pathfinder TRS boat, with a Yamaha outboard. Outfitted with professional grade saltwater fly fishing and light tackle Shimano St Croix spinning gear, high end Garmin Side View/Down Scan electronics package. Fishing this unaltered estuary among the shallow back country grass flats allows you to make casts at fish you are able to see and stalk. Plenty of room for up six anglers at times. We now have a backcountry micro skiff for shallow water flats fishing and sight flats fishing trips. Read More

trip description for Saltwater Fly Fishing near Orlando & Disney in Allenhurst

You will be sight fishing from the bow of a flats skiff in the Mosquito Lagoon or Indian River Lagoon. Despite the scary name, there are no mosquitoes on the water. With clear skies and water, you can see fish within casting distance. In addition, we look for tails, fins, and wakes from single fish, groups or schools. Year round targets include redfish (red drum), spotted seatrout, and black drum. Seasonal catches may include tarpon and snook. Your captain has nearly 20 years of guiding experience specializing in sight fishing these waters. Capt. Chris is a certified fly casting instructor with the FFI for those wanting to improve their cast. Fly fishing in this area is primarily sight fishing which means you are casting at specific targets. 7 weight rods are used most often with 5, 9, and 12 wt rods for specific species. This trip is not for beginner level fly anglers due to the need for speed and accuracy in casting. I can provide all tackle and flies at no additional charge, or you may bring your own. In the event conditions for fly fishing are not optimal, spinning tackle will also be available on board. Fly fishing trips are usually started at first light unless otherwise dictated by weather or other factors discussed in advance. All trips are catch, photo, release only. Read More

Five stars warranted. Skilled and personable captain with nice boat and gear, plus the requisite “local knowledge.” Did a half day with trip tailored by the captain to match our specific inshore interests and to maximize fishing time. Had continuous action, and it was fun to see my daughter catch a nice mixed bag of fish species she hadn’t seen. Highly recommend Captain Matt.

Took our grandson from North Carolina on a shark fishing excursion with Srbo as our captain. Even though our catch was limited, the afternoon and evening with Srbo made up for that. Weather was ideal. Will be back with another grandson and will do this trip again, with Srbo as our captain.
