In the late fall and early winter months, something crazy happens on the beaches of the Outer Banks: Bluefin Tuna, migrating up the coast, come in close to the shore to gorge on menhaden in the shallow water! Captain Justin, one of the most versatile and experienced captains on the Crystal Coast, has been targeting these migrating fish for years and would love to share this incredible opportunity with you if you're in town between November and December. This is a seasonal trip laser-focused on finding, fighting, and reeling in one of the Atlantic's, biggest, fastest and most impressive fish, the Bluefin Tuna, in meer feet of water. With Captain Justin, you'll head out for a short ride from the dock to the oceanside surf waters. He'll come prepared with all the necessary gear, including top-quality rods and reels, trolling equipment, and most importantly, plenty of expertise for tackling these massive fish. Captain Justin will clean and package your catch for you if you catch some smaller keepers, but it should be noted that any commercial-size fish (73inches or bigger) will be kept by the captain per federal regulations. On the day of the trip, you'll go aboard Captain Justin's 30' Contender center console—a perfect boat for finding, chasing, and landing Tuna. It's equipped with two 300HP Yamaha engines, so you'll spend less time cruising and more time fishing. You'll be set up with everything you need—but when the rod is in your hands, it's just you versus the fish! trip description for Cricket II - The JAWS boat in Morehead City

This is a fishing trip unlike any other. When you get off the dock with Captain Joseph, you'll be stepping into more than fifty years of legendary fishing history. The fine vessel you'll be taking out is no ordinary boat, but the boat that initially inspired the bestselling book, "Jaws" and the world-famous film that followed. Your Captain was a mate on that boat when it landed the still-standing world-record Great White Shark—a 3,427 pound monster fish that remains the largest fish of any species ever landed on a rod and reel. The vessel itself is 42', completely one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Chesapeake-style fishing boat, built in 1947 by Tiffany Boat Works, now Tiffany Yachts. It was completely restored by a North Carolina nonprofit, in order to begin its new mission: taking disabled American veterans out on the fishing trip of a lifetime. The purchase of your charter trip allows an equally-sized group of American heroes the chance to get out there for free. In his own words, these trips have a huge impact: "Before my eyes, I watched a quiet group of men, who had boarded the boat timid and cautious, transformed! We engaged the group in conversation, drew them out individually and showed each how to fish for speckled trout. After just a few hits, the men started joking that they were now expert fishermen. The more fish they caught, the livelier they became. When the day drew to a close and we headed in, I invited my “experts” to come up top and drive the boat. When we arrived back at the dock, the smiles on these heroes’ faces were beyond explanation. It was as if they had a whole new outlook. One vet remarked he had no idea fishing was so much fun. These fishing trips aboard the Cricket have the potential to change people's lives. I saw it that day." Obviously, in addition to going after massive sharks, you'll have the opportunity to troll and cast out for a variety of top sportfish, from Mackerel to Mahi and more. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a first-timer, this trip is an unmissable chance to learn about Montauk, about fishing history, and to catch some great fish for yourself while giving back to your country's military heroes. There's simply nothing like it. Read More

Fishing in Hatteras
trip description for Yellowfin & Mahi Mahi Combo in Hatteras

In April and May, the weather is beautiful, the Yellowfin are biting, and Captain Mike and his crew are ready to have you aboard for an unforgettable Gulf Stream Fishing experience. Fishing the waters of the Outer Banks can be VERY fruitful, but there is more than one reason to go with an experienced captain who has fished these waters firsthand for over 3 decades like Captain Mike! In April, Yellowfin Tuna is going to be yourr main catch. Yellowfin tunas put up a great fight and are typically in big schools so multiple hookups are a common occurrence; It is not unusual to hook one on every line. As May comes along, target species largely depends on the water temperatures. If the temperatures stay cool the Yellowfin tuna will hang around longer but when the temperature begins to rise the Marlins and Dolphin begin to appear. As water temperatures begin to rise they get a great run of gaffer dolphins. Gaffer dolphins are larger dolphins that get their name because you need a gaff to get them in the boat. When the gaffer dolphin first show up it is not unusual for us to catch a limit of these big dolphins which is a whole lot of meat for the freezer! During both months, there is also the chance to catch wahoo and Blue Marlin aboard these extended day adventures with Captain Mike. The Hatteras Blue is a very wide & stable 48’ Carolina Sport Fisherman built by Buddy Harris. She is built like a tank, USCG approved and outfitted with an air-conditioned cabin, a comfortable head, and the most up-to-date electronics and safety equipment. Captain Mike keeps his boat fully equipped with custom big game tackle, a big game fighting chair, fish finders, Japanese green stick, standing belts, and endless tackle and bait. He carries all the necessary tools to make sure your day of fishing is as lucrative and productive as possible! Captain Mike runs a family-friendly boat and all anglers are welcome, from beginners to experts! Every day is different, you never know what you will catch! So, be sure to bring your food & drink (coolers welcome), sunscreen, cameras, towels, etc, etc, because this is going to be one of those days you won't soon forget. Read More

I booked this fishing trip for my wife’s birthday. Being workaholics, it’s the first vacation we’ve taken in YEARS. Captain Mike and Cody could not have possibly gave us a better time. Cody is friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything before the boat ever left dock. Mike is also incredible. Mike not only makes sure you’re going to find fish, he wants to make sure you enjoy yourself, and he genuinely cares about your safety. You can tell that these men are genuinely good people. Had an absolutely amazing day with Captain Jamie. He's incredibly knowledgable about fishing and the area and super personable. The fish were a little slow to bite at first but Jamie went above and beyond to try different spots he knows and put us on some fish. The mackerel started biting and we ended with the day with a full cooler! All of us were new to fishing and he was very good with beginners and answered all of our questions. Couldn't recommend a day with him strong enough!

My brother and I had a terrific fishing experience with Judd in mid-May. Great equipment, personable and clear communication - plus Judd's experience and judgement made the whole trip a relaxing and fun time all around for our early season exploration of inshore fishing opportunities now that we both live much closer together. We enjoyed a variety of fishing techniques - Judd knows a lot about fish and where to find them as well as when to go looking. Our inexperience showed, but Judd coaches well - patiently - until we got to connecting regularly with especially the many speckled trout opportunities. Sight-fishing for redfish, which Judd expertly located, was also new for us - we had a blast and definitely hope to try again! Kudos and thanks for the quality of this trip, Judd!

Had a great half-day trip fishing with Capt Jamie near Wrightsville Beach and Masonboro Island. We caught a few fish and learned a lot about the fishery and habitat. Knowledgeable and patient captain. Saw some dolphins, too.

We booked a trip with captain Jaime for two days in the beginning of our trip. My fiancé is an avid fisherman, and was able to pick captain Jamie‘s brain for information on the area, and he gladly shared. Captain brought us to some great spots, and there were some fish caught. We even got to fish one of the shipwrecks from the Civil War, which was amazing. We couldn’t of asked for a more hospitable and kind and knowledgeable guide for this trip.

My son and I had such a fun trip with Captain Jamie! He was great with my son, a patient teacher, and he navigated the area with ease. He even tried to hook us a shark! We also saw dolphins and lovely wildlife, and we caught some interesting fish. My son can’t wait to go back and is counting down the days until we see Jamie again!

We had an awesome time with capt. Joe. He worked extremely hard to put us on the fish. Water conditions weren't to our favor, But we will be back next year. Can't wait to fish with our new found friend again. And have another great day on the water. ☆☆☆☆☆
