Everything to Know About Booking a Texas ladyfish fishing charter

What are the best ladyfish fishing charters in Texas?

Why should I book a ladyfish fishing charter in Texas with Captain Experiences?

Our Damn Good Guides currently offer 10 ladyfish trips in Texas, and the most popular trips in the area are Port Aransas Inshore Adventure guided by Corey, ROCKPORT INSHORE guided by Corey, and Half Day Bay Adventure guided by Brody.

Our guides in Texas are rated a 4.96 out of 5 based on 3300 verified reviews on Captain Experiences.

All guides on Captain Experiences are licensed, insured, and vetted by our team. You can access their reviews, click through trip photos, read bios to get to know them, and preview trip details like species, techniques, group sizes, boat specs and more.

Looking for kid friendly ladyfish guides / fishing lessons in Texas? Check out our beginner and family friendly ladyfish guides in Texas.

What types of ladyfish fishing charters are common in Texas?

Inshore fishing is the most popular type of fishing for ladyfish in Texas as well as flats fishing, jetty fishing, and nearshore fishing.

The most common fishing techniques in Texas are light tackle fishing, artificial lure fishing, and bottom fishing but drift fishing and live bait fishing are popular as well.

How much do Texas ladyfish fishing charters cost?

Prices for ladyfish in Texas can range anywhere from about $500 to $1,023, but the average price for a half day trip for ladyfish in Texas is $581. The average price for a full day trip for ladyfish in Texas is $857.

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for ladyfish fishing in Texas?

The most popular season for ladyfish fishing in Texas is summer, and most anglers book their trips 33 days in advance.

Do I need a Texas fishing license for ladyfish and what are the bag limits for ladyfish in Texas?

See here for more information on fishing licenses in Texas, bag limits for target species, and fishing season regulations in Texas. When in doubt, your fishing guide will always know the right rules and regulations in Texas.

Captain Corey was fantastic! Went out of his way to get the “right” bait (which it was!). We caught enough fish, on a really windy day, for the kids to have wonderful memories. He’s great with kids, has plenty of interesting stories and just a pleasure to be around. Book with Corey! You won’t regret it!

Awesome fishing trip! Booked two days back to back for my boys and extended family, but was canceled on a month out and pushed to Captain Corey. Turned out to be the best thing that could have happened! Captain Corey was super available, coordinated and communicated well in advance, adjusted trips to give us the best experience. First day was slower (cold weather) and he adjusted timing to make it awesome. Limited out second day because of him!!! Haven’t met a team yet that will work as hard as he did to put us on fish and ensure we had fun! Like fishing with family! We will book with him each time from here on out. Thank you.

We had an incredible fishing trip with Corey! Our group of four had a fantastic time, thanks to his expertise and friendly demeanor. Corey made sure everyone had bait on their lines, and he effortlessly adapted to our varying levels of fishing experience. His easy-going nature and knowledge of the sport created the perfect atmosphere for a memorable day on the water. We highly recommend Corey as a fishing guide!

We had the best time with Captain David! He was so nice and fun to fish with. I had never saltwater fished and he was very patient with me. She showed me how to bait the hook and did it for me until I was comfortable doing it myself. No judgement. He was an all around good guy! Took us to several spots and put us in fish every spot. We caught black drum, croakers and red drum. He took me to his Hail Mary spot ( shhh it’s a secret). And I caught a 15 pound Red Drum. He helped me step by step land it into the boat. It was so much fun and he was as excited as I was. We saw a mama and her baby dolphin and he took me as close as he could to them so I could get some pictures because he knew I was excited to see them. On the way back to the pier he told us some history and info about the things we were seeing. I will definitely book with Captain David next time we go down there.

Captain Corey was awesome! He communicated with me the the whole time and was more than accommodating to my group. This was the first ever trip I booked and I definitely will be booking again. If you want a great time and a great captain this is your trip!!

  • ★★★★★
Wow, if I could add 10 stars, that might be enough. Captain Corey was knowledgeable, personable and he offered up a treasure trove of tips and anecdotes that made the time fly. He even gave me great advice on where to get the best local seafood for my dinner. I caught a massive stingray on our outing, which is an experience I won’t soon forget. I highly recommend his guide services, regardless of your skill level. His love for fishing is matched by his expertise. You’ll have a great time, even if the fish aren’t biting. But he seems to know where they are, even when other boats are out of luck!

Richard B. with Corey B. of Rockport, Texas

Brody was a great guide. My 11 yr old son had an absolute blast. He put us on fish and was a lot of fun to spend the trip with. I highly recommend!
