Flats Inshore River
Captain Dustin has fished all across the east coast, from the Florida Keys to Cape Hatteras, fishing is not just a pastime, it's a passion! With over 25 years of experience fishing in the oceans, rivers, and lakes across the southeast, Captain Dustin runs a small, family-oriented business. Captain Dustin has lived on Folly Beach for over 25 years, and understands that the best way to experience Charleston is truly by way of water, and can't wait to show it to you on your next trip!
Captain Dustin and his crew are constantly striving to bring their clients a personalized day on the water. One of his main specialties is providing an intimate charter experience. By keeping his trips small he and his crew can provide quality and attentive instruction and aid to ensure everyone has a fantastic day out on the water.
Join Captain Dustin and Crew for a day of fishing aboard his 20-foot Proline center console. This is a great riding boat that seats 4 comfortably but can accommodate up to 5. Captain Dustin and his crew take pride in not only the amount of fish you catch, but the overall experience as well. They strive to make each trip special for anglers of all ages. On these inshore trips, you can expect to catch several different species of local fish such as red-drum, black-drum, trout, sheepshead, and a variety of shark species as well. Captain Dustin recommends you bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks and beverages. He will provide a cooler full of ice and water as well as all fishing gear and licenses His boat is equipped with gps, sonar, stereo with bluetooth, 2 active live wells, trolling motor, stake it anchor system, yamaha 150 hp motor, Simrad GPS with side scan, down scan and chirp. The best time to catch fish inshore largely depends on the tides. You will want to pick a time a few hours before a tide change for the best fishing. In the spring it's best around the low tide change. In the summer and fall, it is typically a few hours before high tide, that provides the best bite. During July and August, it is best to try and pick early morning or late afternoon times to avoid the heat. Additionally try and pick days that will allow for frequently changing weather. Booking on the last day of your trip may not work out. Captain Dustin and his crew are very flexible and will work with you to ensure you the best experience possible! So what are you waiting for!? We had a great day on the water with Captain Dustin! He was very knowledgeable and had great patience with us! We had two small kids and three adults! All of us landed Redfish! Thank you for a great time and helping us make some awesome memories!
Very nice guy great fishing really knows what he’s doing put me on sharks right away great to find some one you can actually talk to and hold a conversation
Late to posting my review but had a great time last summer. Getting ready to book again with Dustin. Highly recommended.
Dustin was great! Not the most ideal day for fishing but he made it his goal for us to enjoy ourselves and catch fish. Is extremely knowledgeable about fishing. Would highly recommend.
Dustin was great. Very patient and helpful in every way. Thanks for the awsome time. Tails up
Captain Dustin was great! He immediately put us on fish and when things slowed down, he was quick to move us to another spot. He constantly working to change baits, re-rig equipment, or just help teach my kids about fishing. Heckuva good guy too! Enjoyed our day!
Dustin did a fabulous job guiding our fishing trip. We had a 7, 11, and 15 year old and he made sure each child was attended to. He taught them how to cast and baited line after line. He was so flexible with our trip and what we wanted to do. He did everything he could to make sure we were successful. Most fishing charters were coming up empty due to harsh conditions, but we caught redfish, flounder, trout, and some bait fish that still excited the little one. At the end of the day everyone was all smiles and thanking me for booking this trip . Thanks for all your hard work, Dustin! …
Fantastic father-son time. Dustin was great all around—nice guy and patient and thoughtful with my son’s first real fishing experience. He showed us a variety of fishing spots and used different strategies with each, explaining it along the way. We caught some nice redfish and Dustin hooked us with a restaurant that cooked it up for us that evening—absolutely amazing experience. We’ll be booking with him again the next time we’re in Folly Beach. …
This was not our first time booking with Captain Dustin. Every time we book with him my girls and I have a blast. We caught a few fish this time, and unfortunately none of them were keepers. Despite that we had a blast, and taking turns throwing the shrimp net and catching shrimp was the highlight for all, except my youngest who screamed to keep the “seabugs” away from her. The lighthouse walk with all the seashells was enjoyable, especially for my youngest who found some amazing shells including a giant conch shell. Rather than being disappointed about the lack of fish to take home, I was most sad that I didn’t find any shark’s teeth, but fishing and shark teeth hunting is all a game of chance and sadly it was not my day for luck. Since the charter ended, both of my kids have been asking to go back. No matter if we got to take fish home or not, this charter is enjoyable and we look forward to fishing with Captain Dustin again, if he can handle my horrible fish puns again. …
The family had a great time on their first fishing trip. Captain Dustin and First Mate Stephanie did a fantastic job!! Great memories were made and we learned a lot about fishing in the ocean. Captain Dustin put them on fish right away!! We highly recommend this charter and this trip for any beginner fishermen. …
