On Northeast Florida beaches, Cathy shines! Beyond her achievement of tying the 40-year female GA state record for Florida Pompano in 2022, the joy in the eyes of every angler she mentors is her true reward.

Beyond the beach fishing charters, Cathy leads a groundbreaking elite women's fishing club that is transforming the way women fish and do community with each other. She also spearheaded the a Women's Fishing Club on Facebook Groups, which currently has over 4,600 avid female anglers.

When not running charters or connecting with her ladies, she oversees all tackle and supplies being sold through our online store and hand-ties our exclusive Float Rigs. She is passionate about fishing, writing, and music, and has authored several books, music albums, and written many songs over the years.

A new cast net and for my kids to be home with us.

How did you get started guiding?

We moved to FL in 2020 during you know when, and I saw people fishing on the beach and decided I wanted to learn everything I could about it. I starting surf fishing multiple days a weeks and was teaching all my friends how to fish, and they were having good success too. My husband asked me "why don't you start teaching other people and getting paid to do it?" I thought this sounded way better than sitting behind a desk working on people's books! The rest is history!

What makes you different from other guides?

I am very patient with beginners and people who have never tried beach fishing before. Where other beach fishing guides, might find having children on a trip annoying, I love having kids on charters because they make it very fun and I can even show them fun things to do like finding sand fleas for bait or sharks teeth! My focus is on making it a fun experience/excursion for the whole family!

All bait, tackle, and gear are provided—we’ve got you covered! You just bring:
- What you'd pack for a beach day
- Florida Saltwater Shoreline Fishing License (Free for Florida residents; $17 for a 3-day license for non-residents)
- A cooler with ice for your fresh catch of the day.

Safety is a top priority: Cathy is certified in adult and pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and her operation is fully licensed and insured, so you can relax and enjoy your charter with peace of mind.

Our beach fishing trips are especially fun and memorable for families, and we love having children on our charters. Even little ones too small to hold a fishing pole have a fun time with adventures such as looking for sand fleas and shark's teeth! Description: 3 hour beach fishing (land-based) charter
Rates: $250 up to 2 anglers, $75 each additional angler.Max: 10 anglers.
Location: We do a lot of charters at Varn Park in Palm Coast, but location can change anywhere in St. John's, Flagler, or Volusia County. Guide will pick the location and will try to accommodate client's location wishes if possible. We try our best to choose a location where restrooms are available, a beach ramp is available for us to get our equipment down to the beach, and parking is free. (Be aware that new parking fees in Volusia County near the beach--not just on the beach--are $20 per day all over the County.)

With a huge storm the day before and winds still keeping most boats off the water we did very well. 12 fish total with 2 being sharks. One fish we caught was bit in half! Great day on the beach! Learned so many new skills as well and Kathy is too notch at sharing her techniques and working diligently to keep all three of us busey with four rods. You won't find that from a boat. Honestly with four poles soaking, most double rigs totaling 7-8 baits in the water at all times seems much more productive than one rod per angler getting snagged on a reef or baits getting stripped. Being an avid angler myself I'm very impressed with my first time surf fishing under post cold front conditions when many fish get finiky and tuff to commit to feed. Thank you Kathy!!! I'll be back!
