These trips will usually target Snapper species, Cobia King Mackerel and grouper. Red Snapper season generally runs June 1st - July 31st. These dates are not set in stone and can vary from year to year, but Captain Taft's boat is Federally Permitted which allows him to not only venture offshore beyond the state water mark (+9mi from shore) but also to catch fish at certain times when the recreational season is closed. Captain Taft is the owner/operator of his charter business so you will always fish with him out of his 2016 25’ Sportsman Platinum Masters 247 center console boat. Powered by a 300HP Yamaha motor, it can accommodate 4 to 5 anglers (depending on size and type of trip requested).
